Darn Cat, affectionately known as DC, is introduced as a mischievous Siamese tomcat living with sisters Ingrid and Patricia Randall. His adventurous nature leads him on nightly escapades around their suburban neighborhood.

On one of his outings, DC enjoys teasing local dogs, swiping food, and marking cars with muddy paws. These amusing antics establish his playful yet cunning character.

DC's curiosity leads him to follow a bank robber named Iggy into an apartment where hostages are held. This crucial event sets the stage for the ensuing adventure as he unwittingly becomes involved in a serious crime.

While in captivity, bank employee Margaret Miller uses the opportunity to replace DC's collar with her watch. Inscribed on it is a plea for help, which will later become a key clue for the authorities.

Back at home, Patti discovers the watch and grows suspicious of its origin. This moment sparks her determination to help uncover the mystery of Margaret's kidnapping.
