Teddy (2020) Spoiler-Free Summary – What It's About

In a twist of fate that defies medical explanation, college student Srividya Purushottaman finds herself the victim of a bizarre accident. Following a procedure meant to aid her recovery, she awakens to a nightmare that borders on the surreal: her consciousness has somehow transferred into the body of a teddy bear. Trapped within an inanimate form and severed from her physical self, she faces a frightening new reality where communication is a struggle and the world is viewed from the perspective of a toy, establishing an eerie and mysterious tone.

Parallel to this supernatural anomaly is the life of Shivanarayanan (Shiva), an unemployed graduate living with the double-edged sword of an eidetic memory and OCD. His mind is a relentless engine for learning and processing details, yet these same traits create friction in his daily existence, making him an outsider in his own life. Despite his brilliance, he struggles to find his footing until a chaotic encounter forces him to question his perceptions and step outside his rigid boundaries.

When Shiva encounters Sri’s plight, he is thrust into a mystery that challenges the very limits of his understanding. The story pivots from a character study to an intriguing dynamic between a man searching for purpose and a soul desperate to be heard. Their connection forms the heart of a suspenseful journey, one that suggests a dark secret lies beneath the surface of Sri’s accident. As they navigate the friction between the rational and the impossible, the narrative sets the stage for a quest defined by curiosity, empathy, and the search for truth.
