Tarzan the Magnificent

The Bantons rob a pay office in a settlement, killing several people during the heist. Coy Banton is eventually tracked to their camp and taken away by the policeman Wyntors.

Wyntors takes Coy back toward town, but two of the Bantons mount a rescue attempt. In the ensuing struggle, Wyntors is killed.

Tarzan appears and intervenes in the confrontation, killing Ethan Banton. The other Banton brother escapes during the melee.

Tarzan resolves to take Coy to Kairobi to claim the promised reward and to help Wyntors' widow. He starts planning the journey and gathering a possible escort.

The boat Tarzan is waiting for to transport him and Coy to Kairobi is ambushed by the Bantons. The passengers are sent off and the boat is destroyed, forcing an overland escape.

Tarzan meets Tate, the boat’s mate, and then agrees to take on Ames, Fay, Conway, and Lori as part of the trek toward Kairobi. Tarzan warns that the jungle journey will be hard and dangerous.

The Bantons threaten to kill anyone helping Tarzan. They pause only long enough to shoot the doctor who has been sharing information, then resume the pursuit.

The group is captured by natives, and the chief's wife is in difficult labor. Conway uses his medical skills to assist the birth, earning the chief's reluctant permission to continue.

Coy seizes an opportunity and escapes while the others are distracted. Tarzan's pursuit continues as the situation tightens.

Thanks to Ames's influence, Tate is shot and dies. Tarzan recaptures Coy and then hides them both in a quicksand pit as the Bantons search.

Johnny Banton seizes Lori in an attempt to assault her, but Tarzan intervenes. After a struggle, Johnny is killed and falls into a stream.

Coy's manipulation pays off as Fay Ames releases him while the others sleep, and they depart together. Tarzan later finds Fay's scarf and learns that a lioness has killed her.

A roving battle unfolds in which a ricochet from Coy's rifle mortally wounds Abel Banton. A longer struggle across rocks, sand, and water follows as Tarzan closes in on Coy.

Tarzan defeats Coy in the final clash and knocks him unconscious. He hands Coy over to the Kairobi police at the border and ensures Wyntors' widow receives the reward.
