In the picturesque Irish retirement home of Dunmanor, Ray, a once-renowned superhero now faces obscurity, as the public forgets his legacy and shifts its admiration to the glitzy exploits of Celestro. As Ray wanders through the hallways of his twilight years, he grows increasingly frustrated, realizing even his grandchildren no longer recognize the valorous tales of his past.

Things take a dark turn during a chaotic celebration for Jerry, a fellow resident, when Hurricane Jane’s birthday party spirals out of control. In response, Alicia, the warden, resorts to drastic measures to “downwardly manage” Jerry’s powers, leading to a tragic outcome—his demise just weeks later. This raises questions about the administration’s methods and intentions.

As the residents of Dunmanor gear up for Hero Day in a nearby town, Ray’s suspicions peak when he witnesses young people showcasing Jerry’s abilities. Seeking assistance, he reaches out to Celestro, but his cries for help are met with indifference. Unwilling to sit idly by, Ray takes action and ropes in his loyal sidekick, Ted.

Disguised as attendees of Hero Day, they stealthily exit the bus and shadow the youths. Their investigation takes a twist when they interrupt a car theft, which the local media hilariously misinterpret, foisting unwanted attention on Ray and Ted. This prompts Alicia to threaten Ray with the same fate as Jerry, sending tremors of fear through the community.

As anxiety grips the residents, many ponder the grim prospect of losing their powers or undergoing extraction. Ray’s confidants are skeptical about these alarming events, but Ted discovers suspicious documents and blueprints in the administration office, revealing a dark scheme involving Flynn, an orderly capable of absorbing superpowers.

Faced with Alicia, Ray struggles to substantiate his claims, leaving him with no option but to prepare himself for the impending “downwardly management” procedure. Meanwhile, Flynn’s sinister intentions surface as he exploits Jerry’s stolen powers in a thriving black market drug ring.

With tension mounting, Ray and his fellow residents devise a plan to undermine Alicia’s wicked designs. Joined by Pendle, Madera, and Ted, he sets out to confront Flynn and dismantle the corrupt regime. Their mission includes bypassing the facility’s intricate security system.

As their investigation intensifies, Flynn’s crew zeroes in on the source of the illicit substances, leading them back to the unsuspecting retirement community. Alicia, utilizing her stealth and cunning, begins rounding up the remaining superheroes. Seizing an advantageous moment, she gains control over Flynn’s unique powers, intending to absorb the abilities of the superheroes into herself. Alicia’s plan to merge all these powers in a bid to become an invincible being takes a catastrophic turn when her body cannot withstand the monumental energies, resulting in her own collapse. In their confrontation with Alicia, Ray and his companions find themselves defeated; yet, the triumph is bittersweet as they must contend with the aftermath of her catastrophic failure. Ultimately, the heroes unite to honor their hard-fought victory, culminating in a press conference that promises to unveil the unsettling truths behind the tragic events at Dunmanor.
