Olli Suominen, a teenager fresh from war, grapples with typical adolescent struggles while searching for his place in society. His family ties are strained, and he finds the lively atmosphere of restaurants far more exhilarating than school lessons or the endless reading required for his upcoming student exams, preferring the simple pleasures of cafés as a welcome escape from the routine of studying.
