Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital

The film opens with a grainy, glitchy livestream as two local ghost hunters explore the ruins of Xinglin General Hospital in Taiwan. The footage is unstable and loud with static and eerie laughter. In the final, chilling image, one hunter is dragged screaming into a dark hallway by an unseen force, and their bodies are never found. The video soon goes viral.

Months after the viral incident, Quen leads a group of Filipino influencers to Taiwan to film a paranormal reality show called Strange Frequencies. They intend to break viewership records by spending a full night inside the haunted hospital. The team includes Jane, Alexa, MJ, Rob, Raf the spiritualist, and Zarckaroo, all chasing three million real-time viewers. The mission is framed as a dangerous, must-watch event.

The crew sets up cameras in the maternity ward, the psychiatric wing, and the abandoned ICU as the hospital creaks around them. Strange noises and EMF spikes appear almost immediately, signaling something unsettled. Raf draws tarot cards near the morgue and receives a spread about death, imprisonment, and sacrifice, which bursts into flame on its own. The air grows thick with unease as the livestream begins.

Zarckaroo and MJ explore the lower levels as the livestream continues to burn through viewers. During a hallway sequence, Zarckaroo spots a figure in a white hospital gown crawling on the ceiling behind him. When MJ catches up, distant crying leads them to a locked room. Opening it reveals decaying baby dolls nailed to the walls, and the door slams shut on MJ, injuring her finger while Zarckaroo vanishes.

Jane and Rob enter the nursery wing seeking clues about the hospital’s past. The lights flicker and a crib rocks on its own, heightening the tension. A twitching bundle emerges from the shadows, a grotesque fusion of flesh and teeth that horrifies Jane. Rob is seized by an invisible force and later found suspended from the ceiling, his organs arranged in a pentagram as Jane screams.

Back in the control room, Quen, Alexa, and Raf watch their team members disappear one by one. Alexa blames Quen for pushing the stunt as panic spreads through the feed. Raf conducts a protective ritual with salt and chants in multiple languages, but a terrifying multilingual voice erupts from the speakers. Raf convulses, his nose and ears bleed, and the ritual ends with his spine snapping as he’s folded backward.

Alexa attempts to flee, but the hallways warp and twist as a force moves faster than the lights. Her camera captures a shadow in a nurse’s cap with dozens of arms closing in. She hides in an oxygen closet, whispering prayers, and is eventually lifted off her feet as the grip tightens and silence returns.

Quen, alone, arrives in the ritual chamber filled with bloodstained stretchers and jars of preserved fetuses. He learns the hospital was a front for a cult worshipping an ancient demon of entropy and decay, harvesting souls through surgical mutilation to power portals to the spirit world. He finds Jane alive but catatonic and crawls through the ominous scene to try to reach her.

In a tense moment, Jane becomes trapped as something hunts her. Quen races to reach her in time but is too late, and Jane dies inside the room. The revelation heightens the sense of futility and danger as the supernatural siege closes in on the remaining survivors.

Quen locates Alexa and they scramble toward an exit, but the demonic spirit catches Alexa. Quen embraces the demon to slow it down and drags himself toward a window, where he leaps to escape but is fatally wounded by the fall. The dawn light begins to wash over the ruined hospital as he dies.

Alexa wakes outside the hospital and discovers Quen dead on the floor. She staggers toward the gate, pushes through the last barrier, and finally escapes the haunted building. The early morning light hints at the end of the nightmare, even as the memory of what happened lingers.

The recording glitches back to the show’s interview and promotion, and Quen reveals he wants to take on a different role. He envisions a character who dies at the end, a meta note on the danger of chasing ratings. The footage closes with Alexa’s silhouette fading as the credits begin to roll.
