Following a motorcycle accident that leaves him stranded in a New England town, Sam seeks shelter at a rundown motel managed by Kate, another person struggling with their past. He discovers his estranged daughter, Audrey, lives there, a girl he hasn't seen in 25 years. As Sam attempts to reconnect with her, he confronts his inability to form emotional bonds, finding an unexpected connection with a similarly lonely soul.
