Set against the 1981 hunger strike in a British prison, where IRA inmate Bobby Sands protested the classification of IRA prisoners as criminals rather than soldiers, the drama follows two mothers as they confront impossible choices. Their love and loyalty are tested as they fight desperately to keep their sons alive.
