Snow Beast

A snowboarder named Shawn Carter rides the slopes at a Canadian ski lodge. He strays into an unfamiliar, snowbound forest and is stalked by a towering predator hidden among the trees. The beast strikes in the forest and kills him, establishing the threat that drives the rest of the story.

A few days after the snowboarder’s death, wildlife researcher Jim Harwood and his daughter Emmy arrive with a field team to study the annual patterns of the Canadian lynx. They find the lynxes are missing and set up cameras to monitor wildlife activity. The absence of the lynx signals a broader danger in the woods.

A lone traveler by the roadside is dragged into danger and killed by the same Snow Beast. The assault confirms that the predator is roaming beyond the main lodge. The incident raises the stakes for the arriving researchers and rangers.

Local ranger Barry begins tracking the disappearances, tying together the lodge, the missing lynx, and the roadside death. He hints at a broader danger lurking in the woods. His efforts set the investigative tone for the group.

While surveying the forest, Jim and Emmy discover enormous snowy footprints near a camera. The tracks suggest a predator far larger than a lynx is in the area. The unsettling clue deepens the mystery.

That night, a menacing growl rattles the cabin, unsettling the group. In the dawn light, they find their snowmobile destroyed, signaling that the predator is close. The attack heightens the sense of danger and impending confrontation.

Marci reports the attack at the ranger station, and Ranger Barry logs an increasing cluster of disappearances. The official record now shows a growing pattern of threats in the area. The team realizes the danger is real and escalating.

Rob notices one camera has gone down and he and Jim push out on the remaining snowmobile with a tranquilizer gun. Emmy remains behind to monitor the cameras and communicate via walkie-talkie. The plan is to locate and tranquilize the predator while keeping the cameras online.

Rangers Barry and Gibbons head into the woods to search for the culprit, but they are soon caught in a deadly ambush set by the beast. The attack demonstrates the predator's lethal advantage. The danger now hits the human search party directly.

Rob and Jim repair the downed camera and stumble into a hidden cavern carved into the ice. They recover the body of the missing snowboarder and hurry back, trying to warn the others. The discovery confirms the beast’s lair may be inside the frozen terrain.

Marci defies Jim’s plan and drives toward the forest at dawn with a tranquilizer gun and a camera. She encounters the beast in the act of feeding and is violently struck against the hood of the truck, dying and damaging the vehicle. Her disappearance escalates the emergency.

Jim and Emmy survive and return home with a grim sense that no one will believe their tale. In the final sting, two hikers approach a snowdrift and are ambushed when the beast bursts from the snow, confirming the ongoing threat. The world remains clueless about the horror in the woods.
