Let It Snow

The film opens with an establishing shot of the snowy mountains in Gudauri, Georgia, in 2017. Young girl Katie is preparing for a descent on the Black Ridge ski run in poor visibility when she is violently knocked down by an unseen snowboarder. The snowboarder and his female companion abandon her, believing her to be dead.

Three years later, during Christmas, American snowboarders Mia and her boyfriend Max arrive at the Georgia Ski Hotel, seeking adventure on the Black Ridge run. Despite warnings from staff about dangers, Max is eager to continue and plans to propose to Mia at the ridge.

Max bribes a helicopter pilot to airlift him and Mia to the forbidden Black Ridge. They prepare to snowboard down the dangerous run, ignoring the local warnings about missing snowboarders and fatalities associated with the ridge.

During their descent, thick fog causes Max and Mia to become separated. Mia tries to find Max, but her visibility worsens, leaving her disoriented and vulnerable to dangers on the mountain.

Mia is knocked unconscious by a hooded figure on a snowmobile. When she awakens, she searches for Max, following snowmobile tracks and finding him tied and gagged on a snowmobile, which then speeds away with its driver.

The snowmobile driver sets off an avalanche in an attempt to kill Mia, burying her beneath the snow. A stranger then rescues her from the snow and takes her to his cabin, where he treats her wounds and cares for her.

After waking up, Mia finds herself alone and attempts to start a snowmobile using a ring of keys from the cabin, but the hooded snowmobiler reappears, steals the keys, and leaves her behind. She then continues her pursuit on foot, growing increasingly weak.

Mia discovers a tent with a shrine dedicated to Katie and finds a barely conscious stranger hanging by ropes, who urges her to run. However, the hooded snowmobiler appears and catches her, thwarting her escape attempt.

At the top of a steep ridge, Mia sees what she believes is Max’s corpse encased in a bloody snowman, with the engagement ring in its hand. She becomes delusional, embraces the snowman, and then jumps off the ridge, symbolically giving up during her frantic state.

In the end-credits scene, Mia is shown surviving the fall, badly bruised and bloodied but alive. She stands up, filled with anger, and screams, indicating her psychological and physical trauma from the ordeal.
