Believing the message to be his own windfall, Slip rallies his crew and heads for the manor, eager for a big break and a grand adventure.
Upon arrival, Slip hears a gunshot and pushes inside where he meets Digger, the manor’s seemingly friendly caretaker. Digger is more than he appears: he’s a goon working for the calculating smuggler Count Boris Petrov, Martin Kosleck. Petrov intends to scare the intruders away and quietly continues his illicit business from the very estate Slip has come to claim. The tension thickens as the thieves’ grip tightens around the manor, and the boys refuse to back down.
The next day brings a new twist: a hidden door behind the fireplace reveals a secret passage to a concealed room, and in the glow of the lanterns, the gang discovers they’ve stumbled into a trap.
