Nihal Singh, Gippy Grewal, lives in the small village of Nalun Tattebha where, to many, he feels like a burden and a constant source of village chatter. The locals, led by the stern Sarpanch, Avtar Gill, decide that Nihal should leave the village so the peace can be restored. Nihal’s mother, a widow who lost her husband when Nihal was very young, does her best to shield her son even as the community’s whispers grow louder. The mood is charged with humor, mischief, and a touch of sadness, and the film uses that balance to set up a chain of comic and heartfelt moments.

Taari, Binnu Dhillon, Nihal’s larger‑than‑life best friend, has his own brand of trouble. He’s hooked on watching girls online and even prints out their photos, a petty hobby that somehow plays into bigger plans. When he hears that Nihal is about to be ousted, Taari comes up with a plan that sounds ridiculous but is designed to save the day: marry the Sarpanch’s niece, Sapna, a girl who is described as overweight, in order to keep Nihal inside the village. Sapna, Harpreet Walia in the film, initially appears to be the utilitarian piece of the scheme, but the plan quickly spirals into a comedy of real emotions and unintended consequences.

Sapna herself reveals a more troubled side when she tells her Uncle that she loves Nihal and would die if she cannot marry him. This turns the village’s gears in a new direction, and the Sarpanch, along with Sapna, brings the proposal to Nihal’s mother.
