King Arthur Mark Dignam faces a dangerous threat when a knight's plot to seize the throne and marry his daughter is uncovered, shaking the kingdom of Camelot. Soon the soldiers of double-dealing Edmund of Cornwall Ronald Howard slay the king, leaving the realm in turmoil. Katherine Janette Scott, the rightful heiress, escapes with the help of outlaw Robert Marshall Ronald Lewis. Edmund schemes to seize the throne in league with Saxon invaders.

With danger closing in, Katherine is forced to flee, but she remains determined to reclaim her rightful place. After coming close to death more than once at the hands of the sinister limping man Jerome Willis, Katherine and Robert and their loyal countrymen rescue Merlin John Laurie, the great wizard, from Edmund's men to help them save Camelot and England.

They reach Camelot just as Edmund is about to be crowned. On Merlin's advice, Robert challenges Edmund to kill him as a traitor, by using Arthur's sword Excalibur. Edmund is unable to draw the sword from the scabbard, whereupon Robert presents the sword to Katherine Janette Scott, the rightful heir, who draws it out easily. Katherine is recognised by the court as the new Queen.

Following a battle against Edmund's remaining men and the invading Saxon forces, Katherine's armies prevail. She offers Edmund's lands and other renegades to Robert so that he can rule alongside her as King.

Q1

Why did Edmund want to marry King Arthur's daughter?
