Satan’s Little Helper

Dougie's mind is deeply inhabited by a video game in which he plays Satan's little helper. This fantasy world begins to tilt when his sister Jenna returns home from college for Halloween. The blurred line between play and reality starts to unsettle the family.

Dougie's attention is drawn to a man in a cheap Halloween costume arranging a corpse on a lawn as if it were a prop. The boy naively believes the figure is Satan and pleads for help to send Alex to Hell. The man eggingly agrees, nudging the plot toward the night’s horrors.

Alex suggests they bond by dressing as Satan for Halloween, hoping to win Dougie over to the game. Dougie tries to lure Alex into the basement where Satan supposedly waits, but the plan backfires and only deepens the rift. The tension tightens around the family as the pretend ritual becomes a real threat.

Dougie and Satan head out to shop for a true Satan costume, intending to ambush Alex. They return with candy and tools, blurring the line between game and danger. Satan's spree begins, ending in the chaotic death of a market bagger as a shopping cart crashes through the scene.

The malevolent force stalks through the island, attacking several people and drawing closer to Alex's estranged father, Vernon Martin. The night intensifies as more victims fall and the threat expands beyond Dougie's home. The search for safety becomes a citywide fear.

Back at home, Dougie brings Satan inside, and the household gradually accepts the supposed bond between Alex and Satan as a sign of unwavering devotion. The unsettling presence unsettles Jenna and others, blurring the line between affection and danger. The family starts to suspect something truly sinister beneath the costume.
