Jose Mani Chacko Kaithaparambil is a Circle-Inspector in Thrissur who upholds traditional values. He is engaged to Linda, a college-going student, which frames many of his decisions.

Jose's father, who runs a bar, and his friend Joymon push Linta as the ideal match. They strive to secure a traditional alliance, creating tension with Jose's own life.

Naina, a Bangladeshi woman kept in custody and mistreated by Mani Swami, escapes and reaches the police. The police begin a hunt for Mani Swami as a result.

Naina is placed in a shelter home, where she spends time painting and writing poems. The shelter life hints at her resilience and coping.

Anupama, a social worker and drama artist, is walking alone to her hostel when Jose spots her at around 12:30 a.m. He stops her and questions her, creating tension.

Anupama is detained by Jose at the police station. Her associates mention she created news during the Kiss of Love protest and recommend releasing her to avoid trouble in the morning.

Anupama insists Jose drop her at her PG; after persuasion by SI Rameshan, Jose agrees and drops her off.

Mani Swami crashes back to Thrissur, injures a police officer, and escapes. His trafficking operations continue in the background.

Jose and Anupama cross paths in various circumstances, and Jose even detains Anupama for alleged immoral traffic. The incident becomes a social issue.

Due to the controversy, ACP Chandra Sivakumar suspends Jose and reassigns him off Naina's case. He is temporarily kept away from the Mani investigation.

As time passes, Jose and Anupama grow closer, and Jose is reassigned back to Naina's case to trap Mani.

Chandra invites Jose for a personal meeting at her flat and hints at his wedding with Linta. He then learns Anupama has been having phone calls with Mani.

Jose follows Anupama to Goa after discovering her meetings with Mani. In Goa, Anupama reveals that Mani is her father, and Mani attempts to seduce her.

Anupama's revelation leads to Mani's arrest by Jose and the police. Mani begs for forgiveness, and Anupama confesses her feelings for Jose.

Anupama hugs Jose and boards a bus to depart; Jose, still engaged to Linda, watches her leave with a mix of longing and resolve.
