Jose Kaithaparambil, Anoop Menon a circle-inspector of police stationed in Thrissur, hails from Pala and carries a strong sense of traditional values. He is engaged to Linda, a college-going student, and lives under the shadow of family expectations. His father, who runs a bar, and his close friend Joymon Balu Varghese push to shape his life around a conventional match with Linta Anu Sithara. This pressure frames Jose’s every decision, even as he navigates the brutal realities of crime policing in the city.

A Bangladeshi woman named Naina, who had been kept in custody and severely molested by Mani Swami Alencier Ley Lopez, somehow escapes and makes her way to the police. Mani Swami’s ruthless operation continues to cast a long shadow over the investigation, and he manages to slip away again, leaving behind a fresh stain on the force. Naina, meanwhile, is placed in a shelter home where she channels her trauma into painting and writing poems, seeking some quiet corner of expression amid the chaos.

Into this tense atmosphere steps Anupama Neelakanthan Aparna Balamurali, a social worker and drama artist. One night, Jose spots Anupama walking toward her hostel at around 12:30 a.m. on a road and stops to intervene. Although she insists she can walk safely, he detains her. When an auto approaches, she declines to enter, citing that the driver is a stranger. This act provokes Jose, and he ends up taking Anupama into police custody. His subordinates later identify her as the one who sparked headlines during the Kiss of Love protest, and they advise releasing her to avoid creating further trouble the next morning. Anupama, however, insists that Jose drop her at her hostel.

The situation intensifies as Mani Swami escapes again after injuring a police officer, continuing his grim cycle of trafficking young girls. The case becomes a flashpoint: Jose is suspended by ACP Chandra Sivakumar IPS Gayatri Arun for the controversial actions at the station, and he is pulled away from the Naina case. Yet the bond between Jose and Anupama deepens through a series of charged encounters, and their professional tension gradually gives way to genuine trust and concern.

As Mani Swami presses on with his operations, Jose and Anupama meet under a string of fraught, dangerous circumstances, sometimes crossing paths in ways that test Jose’s commitment to due process. The pursuit of Mani Swami becomes a social test as much as a criminal one, highlighting the human costs of trafficking and the ethical lines that law enforcement must walk. At times, Jose even finds himself taking Anupama into custody under complex suspicions of immoral traffic, a move that underscores the film’s muddled border between duty and moral judgment.

A pivotal personal meeting occurs when Chandra calls Jose to discuss a future together, including an invitation to Jose’s wedding with Linta. The conversation takes a sharp turn when Jose discovers Anupama has been in touch with Mani Swami. Following new orders to trap Mani, Jose trails Anupama to Goa, where he uncovers that she is meeting Mani. In a tense confrontation later that night, Anupama confronts Mani and then reveals that Mani is her father. A shocked Mani Swami begs for forgiveness as Jose and the police close in to arrest him.

In the aftermath, Anupama confesses her feelings for Jose. She shares a final moment of warmth with him, gives him a last hug, and boards a bus, leaving Jose—still bound to his engagement with Linda—watching with a quiet, unresolved longing as she rides away. The film closes on this emotional crossroads, balancing romance, duty, and the harsh realities of a society grappling with exploitation and gendered violence.
