Sabrina Spellman [Britt McKillip] turns 13 and receives her first magic wand from Enchantra [Jane Mortifee], kicking off a journey at the Witch Academy where she learns the three guiding principles: use magic wisely, be true to one’s friends, and be true to oneself. Sabrina, a half-witch, hides her mixed heritage to fit in and quickly becomes popular, navigating the line between acceptance and secrecy.
Her worlds collide when she and the group first tease Nicole Candler [Alexandra Carter], a bookish misfit who doesn’t quite fit the mold. But when Sabrina discovers that Nicole is also a half-witch, the two form an unlikely but genuine friendship. Sabrina’s circle grows suspicious of this bond and tries to prove Nicole’s half-witch status by testing her, only to miss the mark as they notice the half-star on Nicole’s hand.
Sabrina visits Nicole in her dorm, and the pair embark on a journey to the witches’ realm in hopes of becoming full witches. Inside the realm, a witch guides them through three doors to fantasy worlds. The first door turns them into mermaids, the second into figure skaters where a hockey player appears on the ice, and a playful brawl ensues as they trade pucks. The third door reveals them as princesses, meeting two princes and sharing a dance before Enchantra learns the two girls are in the realm and sends two minions to bring them back.
They reach the wish-granting wisdom tree in the witches’ realm. Sabrina steps forward first and asks to be a full witch, choosing to take Nicole’s half-witch powers. This grant makes Nicole mortal and, within the realm, turns her to stone—since a mortal cannot remain there. Sabrina pleads for the change to be reversed, but it’s too late. In a pivotal moment, Enchantra is moved by Sabrina’s selflessness and breaks the spell on Nicole, returning both girls to their half-witch state.
At graduation, Sabrina receives the Golden Wand from Enchantra, and she finally reveals the truth about Nicole to the other students. In a heartfelt gesture, Sabrina decides to share half of the Golden Wand with Nicole, cementing their friendship and signaling a newfound honesty and acceptance.
