Scott Yager wins the court case, securing the old Spanish land grant and a large swath of Red River ranchland. The ruling shifts power in town and threatens the livelihoods of local ranchers. With ownership secured, Yager begins readying rent enforcement and eviction strategies.

The ranchers are forced to either vacate their land or become tenants under Yager's control. They scramble to raise funds to cover rents, while resentment against Yager's grab for land grows. Tensions mount as communities brace for conflict.

Jim Carey and Ike head back to their ranching world and learn from Sam Sterling that Yager's case stands and that Chet Andrews has been jailed. They also meet Chet's daughter, Carol, adding a personal stake to the fight. The meeting sets the stage for the plan to challenge Yager.

Yager's men disrupt Sterling's office and a fight erupts, with the sheriff stepping in to restore order. During the melee, Ike discovers a tin star stuck to his shirt, hinting at a criminal thread behind the conflict. The star becomes a symbol tied to the plan against Yager.

Jim and Ike use the tin star as a ruse to free Chet Andrews from jail, slipping away as the sheriff closes in. The jailbreak strengthens the trio's resolve to outmaneuver Yager. They regroup to execute a larger plan to undermine Yager's rent scheme.

Jim and Ike go undercover as masked men and begin leaving messages to ranchers to stay and fight, signed by 'Mr. Justice.' The mysterious letters spark hope among the ranchers and sow fear in Yager's camp.

Jim and Ike stage raids that steal back Yager's rent money and return it to the ranchers, undermining his leverage. In response, Yager reports the robberies to the sheriff and moves to evict the ranchers with a looming 30-day deadline.

Sam Sterling questions the authenticity of the land grant and sets out to prove it fake. His investigation risks exposing Yager's manipulation of the case and may change the legal outcome.

Jim overhears people discussing the grant and advises Yager to stash the document in a safe place. Yager retrieves it, but Jim and Ike ambush him and turn the document over to Sterling for examination. Yager regains consciousness to find Jim and Ike pinned outside, claiming Mr. Justice ambushed them.

Yager confronts Sterling and Carol at the newspaper office. Jim and Ike hide as lights go out and a scuffle erupts, allowing the Sterlings to escape and regroup. The chase tightens the net around Yager's scheme.

Yager orders two henchmen to dress as Mr. Justice to retrieve his rent money, while Carol collects petition signatures to reopen the case and leads a posse toward Yager's ranch. The double masquerade intensifies the cat-and-mouse game around the town.

Jim and Ike are captured but the posse arrives to join Carol's pursuit. A final skirmish ensues; Jim subdues Yager and his men, who are sentenced to long prison terms. Carol and Jim's embrace signals a hard-won victory, as Ike theatrically falls off a ladder reenacting the last clash.
