Ready to Rumble

Gordie and Sean work as sewage workers but are deeply passionate about professional wrestling. They often discuss the history of the sport and idolize WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jimmy King, unaware of the scripted nature of the entertainment.

Titus Sinclair, the owner of WCW, hatches a plan to strip Jimmy King of his title. By hiring Diamond Dallas Page to challenge King, he intends to set up a match that will humiliate King and remove him from the wrestling scene.

During a WCW Monday Nitro show, Gordie and Sean eagerly watch as their favorite wrestler, Jimmy King, faces off against Diamond Dallas Page. To their shock, King is brutally defeated and terminated from WCW, leaving the loyal fans devastated.

After witnessing King's disgraceful exit from wrestling, Gordie and Sean recklessly crash their septic truck on the way home. Instead of seeing it as bad luck, Gordie considers it a sign that they must help King regain his title.

The next day, Gordie and Sean meet Isaac, an enthusiastic wrestling fan with tech-savvy skills. They enlist his help to track down the whereabouts of Jimmy King, aiming to convince the fallen hero to fight again.

The trio discovers King has abandoned his family, consisting of his estranged wife Eugenia and son Frankie. This revelation sheds light on King's troubled past and ignites a determination within Gordie and Sean to help King return to wrestling.

When they finally locate King in a trailer park, he is disguised as a woman and inebriated. Despite paying him for a meeting, King asserts he has moved on from wrestling, leading to a heated discussion with Gordie and Sean who refuse to give up on him.

As the countdown to the rematch begins, Gordie, Sean, and King prepare for the fight. They meet with Sal Bandini, a grueling trainer, and initially fail to recruit King’s former partner Bill Goldberg, who is resentful towards King.

As King trains, tensions rise when it's revealed that Sasha, the Nitro Girl, has been spying for DDP. Heartbroken over this betrayal, Gordie breaks up with her while focusing on training King for the upcoming match.

On the day of the match, Gordie's father arrives to take him away, dismissing his wrestling aspirations. Tensions peak as Sean and King try to help Gordie break free, but he resolutely decides to continue pursuing his dreams.

During the highly-anticipated match, King faces off against DDP, and the stakes couldn't be higher. Just when King is overwhelmed, the unexpected arrival of fellow wrestlers like Goldberg and Sting provides crucial support in his fight.

As chaos breaks out during the match, Gordie enters the rink dressed in a wrestling outfit. He joins King in the fight against DDP's goons, showcasing immense courage and camaraderie in the battle for the title.

In a thrilling turn of events, King rallies from near defeat and defeats DDP, reclaiming his title. His triumph serves not only as a personal victory but as a redemption arc for all who believed in him.

After the match, Gordie and Sean confront Titus Sinclair, showing their defiance against his schemes. They toss him into the audience to face the wrath of the fans, demonstrating their victory over the corrupt promoter.

The film concludes with the trio celebrating in a stretch Hummer, relishing their adventure together. Gordie expresses the possibility of dreams coming true, while laughter and joy echo in the finale as they drive off into the sunset.
