Rajakali Amman

A local zamindar attempts to steal the jewellery adorning her idol, forcing Rajakali Amman to abandon her original shrine. She walks away toward the next town, leaving behind the temple and her devotees. The departure marks the beginning of a new phase as she travels in search of safety and new worshippers.

In the next town, an orphaned Meena offers milk to the goddess while Gopal entertains with his pungi. Moved by their empathy, the goddess promises to protect them. She manifests herself as a stone idol for them to worship, binding their fate to her.

The goddess pledges lifelong protection to the siblings, ensuring their safety and happiness. The two children become devoted followers who care for and communicate with Rajakali Amman. The divine bond is sealed as she takes the form of a lasting stone idol.

Decades pass and Meena and Gopal grow into adults who live with their pet snake Manickam. They continue to please, worship, and converse with Rajakali Amman, whose blessings help them prosper. The goddess, having blessed their life, returns to her original shrine.

Meena marries Seemadurai, a man who pretends to be kind but harbors malign intentions. The goddess disapproves of the match, sensing trouble ahead, but Meena's trust in him leads to a troubled path. The social and spiritual tension sets the stage for tragedy.

After the marriage, Seemadurai's relative Ramesh and Meena's sister kill Gopal, cutting short the godly protection that once accompanied the siblings. The tragedy shocks the town and deepens Meena's despair. The goddess must act to protect her devotee from the looming threat.
