Puff Puff Pass

The film opens with a flashy infomercial by Dick Dupre, a parody of a sensational infomercial personality. Larry and Rico watch with growing interest and decide to start a tiny classified ads business. The running gag about what the ads are for appears early, as they insist the ads themselves will generate income.

Lance locks them out for being late on rent, leaving them outside with no access to cable. Larry's car won't start, and they fear missing the Shawshank Redemption marathon on TNT. A rehab brochure they remember nudges Larry to decide he's hit bottom, and Rico agrees to join him.

They check into rehab and quickly feel out of place among hard-drug addicts and stern counselors. They discover the brochure was false and the clinic offers only eight channels, with no TNT. Their first night includes pranks, minor romantic liaisons, and they are eventually kicked out.

After rehab, Larry and Rico seek out Big Daddy, a wealthy acquaintance, who believes they are Elise's set-up to move a valuable collection of Indian Head pennies. They meet him and learn about a potential score tied to his pennies. His interest pulls them into a larger plan beyond rehab.

The buyer, an aspiring rapper named Ice Killa, arrives at the bus station to pay for the pennies. The duo forget the coins in Larry's car, and in a panic they flee with the money as Ice Killa closes in. The chase intensifies as Ice Killa's fear of dogs becomes apparent.

Big Daddy's trained guard dog chases Ice Killa up a tree, revealing the plan to steal the coins. Larry, Rico, and Big Daddy realize Elise and Ice Killa were trying to double-cross them. The confrontation leads them to reconsider their position and aligns them with a new path.

Big Daddy offers Larry and Rico a stake in his beachfront property venture in Nicaragua. They accept, hoping the deal will finally provide a payday. This marks a turning point as their misadventures align with a legitimate-sounding opportunity.

At the airport, the crew runs into Dupre, whose infomercial empire is revealed to be a scam; he is now involved in the Nicaragua venture as well. The encounter ties together the satire of get-rich-quick schemes with their new path.

The film culminates in another infomercial featuring Dupre alongside Larry and Rico, announcing their supposed fortunes in Nicaragua. The infomercial reframes their misadventures as a success story and ties up the running jokes.

Back at the apartment, two new stoners—Jaleel White and Paulo Costanzo—are being scolded by Lance for late rent. Larry and Rico unexpectedly appear on TV, touting their new fortunes, prompting the new tenants to cheer, shouting 'Nicaragua!' Lance reacts with disbelief and reaches for their joint.

Larry and Rico's televised appearance reinforces the idea that the tiny ads hustle has transformed into a fortune through Nicaragua. The running gag about ads continues as they bask in their staged success and the crowd echoes the slogan.
