Tom Latham becomes the charismatic leader of the violent youth gang The Living Dead, with Abby by his side. He spends much of his time at The Seven Witches, a ruin in the Surrey countryside, where he dabbles in black magic. This occult obsession sets the stage for the gang's brutal actions and the town's fear.

On his eighteenth birthday Tom enters a mysterious room connected to his birth and witnesses the Frog God. The encounter seeds a dark pact that will shape his fate. The supernatural vision foreshadows the transformation to come.

Tom commits suicide and, with his mother's help, returns from the dead. He becomes undead, gaining superhuman strength and immunity to death. The resurrection marks the beginning of his tyrannical reign over the gang and the town.
