Primitive War

In 1968, a Green Beret platoon is attacked and killed by unseen predators during a classified mission in a remote jungle valley. Their commander, Colonel Jericho, calls in Vulture Squad to locate the missing men. The event sets off a perilous rescue mission that will plunge the survivors into a deadly valley.

Vulture Squad is dropped into the valley to locate the missing Green Berets. They begin following tracks—birdlike prints and large feathers—that hint at the danger ahead. The mission is tense from the start as they search the unknown terrain.

While pursuing the trail, Baker is ambushed by an unseen creature and barely drives it off. The encounter underscores the immediate peril of the valley. The squad presses on, wary of what else may emerge from the jungle.

Inside a cave tunnel, a pack of Deinonychus erupts from the shadows and ambushes the team. Baker and Leon Verne are separated from the rest in the ensuing chaos. The split forces them to survive on their own while the valley’s dangers close in.

The Soviet Dogs of War tail the Vulture Squad as they pursue clues about the missing soldiers. During the pursuit, Aleksandr is ambushed and killed by the predator that attacked Baker. The chase intensifies the sense of being hunted from two fronts.

The Vultures encounter a family of Tyrannosaurus rex and narrowly escape. Sofia Wagner, a Soviet paleontologist, rescues Baker and Verne and brings them to her hideout at an abandoned research station. The meeting reveals the valley’s biological nightmare is broader than their mission.

Sofia explains that a science project overseen by General Borodin accidentally opened a wormhole, pulling dinosaurs into the present. Borodin’s actions were murderous toward colleagues who questioned him. She also identifies Baker’s attacker as a larger raptor that now stalks their group.

A flock of Quetzalcoatlus swoops in, killing Tolstoy and wounding Keyes. The squad and Sofia scramble to repel the airborne threat while the ground predators close in. The battle accelerates toward a full-blown struggle for survival.

The group discovers that Baker’s attacker is a larger raptor. Keyes fights off the pack but is fatally wounded by the larger predator; he manages to stab its eye, buying the team precious seconds. His injury proves a costly but partial reprieve for the others.

The squad escapes the valley by boat, but Keyes dies in a final stand, detonating grenades to slow the pursuing raptors. The moment seals his sacrifice as the others push toward safety. The group carries on despite the loss.

Sofia explains Borodin’s collider as a device to teleport Soviet forces through wormholes, and notes a malfunction that allowed dinosaurs to arrive. The survivors resolve to disable the collider to avert a global catastrophe. The plan sets up the next, decisive push.

During a brutal assault, Stovall sacrifices himself to save the others from an onslaught of dinosaurs. His stand buys the group time to regroup and continue the mission. The loss deepens the resolve of the remaining Vultures.

At the Soviet base, Borodin’s soldiers murder an infant T-rex, provoking its parents to attack. The tyrannosaurs massacre the soldiers, illustrating the dinosaurs’ growing presence in the valley. The warring factions collide as the survivors decide their next move.

Con Nhen attacks Miller; Miller sacrifices himself by detonating explosives to kill the attacker and halt the threat. The collider zone becomes a chaotic battlefield as loyalties blur. The base reels from the sudden, brutal losses.

Jericho arrives with US reinforcements as a massive predator-borne assault hits the base. The Vulture Squad’s explosives destroy the collider, ending Borodin’s project and altering the course of the Cold War. Sofia warns that the damage is already done, as the dinosaurs begin migrating out of the valley.
