In 2000, George David, a 16-year-old pre-degree student at Holy Spirit Convent College in Aluva, Kerala, is hopelessly smitten with Mary, Anupama Parameswaran, the prettiest girl in the village of Uliyannoor-Thottakkattukara. Mary’s beauty makes her the center of attention, and she attracts several suitors, though her father keeps a strict watch and doesn’t hesitate to discipline any boy who pestered his daughter. Whenever George plucks up the courage to speak to Mary, something always interrupts him, leaving him disappointed. He learns that Mary is already in a relationship with another boy named George, and she asks for his help to date discreetly without her family knowing. He tries to shield her from heartbreak, and the trio of George, Shambu and Koya start to grasp how life can derail even the best-laid plans as they confront their uncertain futures after a disappointing year-end exam.
By 2005, George David, Shambu, and Koya gain admission to Union Christian College in Aluva. On a ragging night, they cross paths with Malar, a fresh lecturer who brings a Tamil background and a magnetic presence to the campus. George is instantly drawn to her charisma and remarkable dancing, imagining a shared future, while Vimal Sir, the college’s respected teacher Vinay Forrt, also falls for Malar and enlists the help of a PT teacher, Shivan, in a bid to win her over. The year thickens with the arrival of Malar’s world beyond the classroom, and her journey soon takes a turn when she visits Kodai (Kodaikanal) with her cousin Arivazhagan, the man tradition has chosen as her would-be husband. Arivazhagan is played by Ananth Nag, a presence whose role foreshadows a life-altering decision for Malar.
Weeks later, tragedy strikes when Malar suffers an accident that leaves part of her memory lost. She cannot recognize George or recall their relationship, and this fracture reshapes their lives in an unexpected way. Malar marries Arivazhagan, and a heartbroken George attends the wedding with his close friends, watching as the life he imagined slips away into memory and distance.
Jump ahead to 2014, and George, now in his thirties, runs a cafe with his childhood friend Jojo, Siju Wilson. The cafe becomes a backdrop for a new chapter as he encounters Celine, a 22-year-old with a vivacious spirit, Madonna Sebastian. George is struck by an undeniable attraction, and he soon learns that Celine knew Mary and used to walk with her, which helps them form a quick, easy bond. Despite the noticeable age gap, George’s feelings deepen, and he decides to propose to Celine. Complicating matters, Celine is also navigating an engagement with Roney Varghese, a man whose charisma is overshadowed by a troubling cocaine habit. Roney, Alphonse Puthren, becomes a volatile presence who constantly insults Celine, leading to a tense escalation that forces George and his friends to intervene and physically confront him.
Ultimately, George and Celine marry, sealing a new life chapter for both. The wedding reception takes an unexpected turn when Malar arrives with her husband, Arivazhagan. The moment hints that Malar may have regained her memory, suggested by her husband’s question about why she hadn’t told George the truth earlier. Yet Malar chooses discretion, not revealing this memory to her husband, preferring to let George find happiness with Celine. The film closes on a quiet, mutual understanding between George and Malar, a sense of closure that acknowledges their past while honoring the life George has built with Celine.
