In the charming town of Massachusetts, the Owens family has been enveloped in a veil of intrigue for over three hundred years, stemming from their ancestor, Maria Owens. After narrowly escaping execution for witchcraft, Maria was burdened with heartache when the father of her unborn child vanished without a trace. In her grief, she cast a spell intended to shield herself from ever experiencing love again. Little did she know, this enchantment would become a curse for her descendants, heralding doom for any man an Owens woman chose to adore.

As time passes, we find Sally and Gillian Owens under the protective care of their aunts, Frances and Jet, following the tragic death of their parents. Their unique family history makes them targets for relentless bullying at school, cementing their status as outcasts among their peers.

As Sally matures, she witnesses her aunts attempt to bring love into the life of a friend through a spell. Intrigued, Sally resolves to take control of her destiny by casting a similar spell on herself, stipulating that she will only fall for a man who embodies seemingly unattainable qualities. Her intention? To shield herself from love forever.

Contrasting Sally’s approach, Gillian yearns for the exhilarating experience of romantic love. As they transition into their teenage years, Gillian boldly flees to Los Angeles with her boyfriend, leaving behind Massachusetts in search of adventure. Before her departure, the sisters perform a bonding ritual to ensure their loyalty towards each other, a testament to their sisterly bond.

Gillian spends the next decade navigating relationships across the country, while Sally settles down and eventually marries Michael. Together they welcome two daughters, Kylie and Antonia.

Tragedy strikes unexpectedly when Michael dies in a car accident, leaving Sally and her daughters shattered and struggling to rebuild their lives. Moving in with their aunts, Sally soon discovers a surprising twist: Frances and Jet had secretly cast a love spell on her, intended to lead her toward happiness.

Just as Sally begins to piece her life back together, Gillian confides that she is in a turbulent relationship with Jimmy Angelov, a man marked by his volatile temperament and domineering ways. When Sally rushes to rescue her sister, the situation spirals as Jimmy takes them hostage. In a moment of desperation, Sally mixes belladonna into Jimmy’s drink, hoping to render him unconscious. However, her efforts have unforeseen repercussions, leading to Jimmy’s untimely death.

The sisters grapple with their loss while attempting to undo their mistakes. Their desperate attempt to resurrect Jimmy with a forbidden spell only results in his return and subsequent aggression towards Gillian. In an act of self-defense, Sally must confront the darkness once again, ultimately ending Jimmy’s life for good. They bury his remains in their family garden, irrevocably altering the dynamics of their lives.

As the night continues, the sisters and their aunts engage in a raucous drinking spree, fueled by the remnants of Jimmy’s tequila. Fueled by liquid courage, old resentments spill over, leading to heated exchanges. The aunts, fed up, depart with a stinging farewell: “clean up your own mess.”

Meanwhile, a resolute investigator from Tucson, Arizona, Gary Hallett, arrives in search of Jimmy, a notorious figure. Gillian schemes to impress him with a dubious potion, but Sally’s daughters intervene, recognizing Gary as the manifestation of Sally’s childhood affections, conjured by the spell she unwittingly cast.

As tensions rise, Sally and Gillian engage in a fierce confrontation, culminating in Sally’s emotional confession to Gary. Just as Gary seems poised to leave, Sally realizes that he is indeed the impossible man from her dreams—a revelation that sends shockwaves through their tangled lives.

Against all odds, Sally and Gary’s connection intensifies, their chemistry sparking like fire on a summer night. However, their romance is soon disrupted by the resurgence of Jimmy’s vengeful spirit, now possessing Gillian.

As chaos reigns, Sally seeks assistance from other townsfolk, establishing a coven to exorcise Jimmy’s presence and liberate the Owens family from their cursed legacy. Empowered by their collective magic, they succeed in vanquishing the dark spirit, allowing the Owens women to finally discover acceptance within their community.

In the wake of this life-altering event, Gary returns to Tucson, his reputation restored by the revelations surrounding the sisters. Sally reflects on the complexities of love and magic as she opens her heart to Gary once more. As the townspeople embrace the Owens family’s newfound place among them, it becomes evident that sometimes a little magic is all it takes to unite souls.
