The Marauder schemes to bend Celebi’s powers to his own dark ends and builds a plan to seize control. The hunter's quiet vigil becomes a battlefield against a centuries-spanning threat.

The Marauder wields Dark Balls that can bind Pokémon to their Trainers, twist their nature, and amplify their strength. He captures the hunter’s Tyranitar and orders it to unleash a devastating Hyper Beam on the hunter’s possessions. The demonstration confirms the danger Celebi’s power could unleash in the wrong hands.

In the present day, Ash, Misty, and Brock arrive near Arborville and witness the legendary Suicune along a riverbank. Professor Oak hints at a past encounter with Suicune that he cannot fully explain yet. Local guide Mr. White directs them toward the forest, setting the stage for the meeting with Towa and Diana.

The elderly Towa and her granddaughter Diana explain the danger of the Voice of the Forest to travelers. They warn that Celebi’s powers have time-twisting consequences and demand caution for all involved. The locals' warnings deepen the mystery and prepare Ash and friends for the challenges ahead.

Celebi and Sammy emerge from the past into the present, though Celebi hides itself. Sammy struggles to come to terms with his displacement through time as the group shifts focus to helping Celebi. They begin moving toward a path of healing together.

That night, a bond forms between Ash and Sammy as they hope for a future where the younger trainer might reunite with his friends in his own era. The group pushes toward the Lake of Life, where healing waters may aid Celebi. The journey tests their resolve and courage.

The next day, the Marauder closes in, deploying a Dark Ball to capture Celebi and shroud it in an armor that amplifies its power. In the chaos, Jessie is captured, revealing the breadth of the Marauder’s ambitions: to overthrow Giovanni and reshape the world.

Ash, Sammy, Pikachu, and Suicune fight to free Celebi from the Marauder’s control. They breach the armor and coax Celebi to resist. Celebi slowly regains its memories, but the struggle leaves a heavy emotional toll.

In a desperate moment, Celebi dies in Sammy’s arms by the lakeside. The Voice of the Forest reveals itself as Celebi across time and conjures a miraculous resurrection. The forest’s power to heal runs deeper than anyone anticipated.

The Marauder reappears and abducts Celebi with a jetpack, escaping into the skies. Ash and Pikachu intervene to rescue Celebi, while the Marauder crashes in the forest and is confronted by Towa, Diana, White, and a chorus of furious wild Pokémon. Celebi is saved and returned to safety.
