Pirates of the Plain

Bobby lives on a farm in Nebraska with his mother Glenna, father Karl, and grandfather. He is an imaginative eight-year-old boy who often gets into trouble for his make-believe adventures. Bobby perceives his imagination as a negative trait, feeling punished for his creative play.

During a storm, Bobby's grandfather falls and breaks his arm. His mother Glenna takes him to the hospital, leaving Bobby alone on the farm. The storm and grandfather's injury set the stage for an unusual event to occur.

A vortex in time is created during the storm, which deposits Jezebel Jack, a pirate, onto the farm. Jack wakes up in a wheat field and finds Bobby tending to his wounds after he loses consciousness again. This event introduces a fantastical element into the farm setting.

Jezebel Jack adapts to modern technology like a television and learns of a buried treasure map from Bobby. Bobby explains the map is in an unknown code called 'Adventurer's Code', which Jack claims he can read fluently. They decide to follow the map together.

Following the encoded map, Bobby and Jack locate the buried treasure under an old tool shed. Their discovery marks a significant turning point in their adventure. The treasure sparks excitement and sets subsequent events in motion.

A second vortex opens, bringing Jezebel Jack's mutinied crew into the farm. The crew learns about the treasure and immediately attack Jack and Bobby, leading to a confrontation over the treasure. This marks the escalation of the conflict.

Bobby is captured by the crew and held for ransom, while Jack is forced to hand over the treasure. The boy's safety becomes the focus of the pirates, deepening the stakes of the adventure. Bobby and Jack's bond is strengthened during this crisis.

After Bobby's release, Jezebel Jack retreat to the water where he is again transported back to the Nebraska plains. The crew realizes the treasure they received is a fake, a set of bricks covered in aluminum foil, revealing they have been tricked.

With the fake treasure discovered, Jezebel Jack and his crew are teleported back to their native time. Jack's retreat signifies the end of the pirates' adventure on the farm, leaving Bobby with the memories of his extraordinary experience.

Though the pirates have returned to their time, the events leave a lasting impression on Bobby. The story highlights themes of imagination, adventure, and the boundary between fantasy and reality, marking the conclusion of the film's timeline.
