Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Angelica, Jack's former lover and daughter of Blackbeard, is the one impersonating him. She uses Jack's name to recruit a crew for the Fountain of Youth expedition, as she needs a experienced pirate to navigate the journey. Jack had previously wronged her, and she manipulates the situation to get his help while keeping her true identity hidden.

Blackbeard uses voodoo magic to turn his officers into obedient zombies who follow his will without question. He implants his command directly into their minds, making them completely loyal and unable to rebel against him.

Blackbeard has a prophecy that he will die within a fortnight at the hands of a one-legged man. This is why he desperately seeks the Fountain of Youth, he knows his time is running out. The prophecy is fulfilled when Barbossa, who lost his leg in a previous film, kills Blackbeard with his sword.

The prophecy is mentioned early when Jack learns about it from Angelica, hinting at the eventual showdown between Blackbeard and Barbossa.

King George II orders Jack to guide the British expedition to the Fountain of Youth under threat of execution. Jack has no choice but to comply, though he sees an opportunity to find the Fountain himself and potentially benefit from its waters.

The two silver chalices once belonged to Ponce De Leon. When the Fountain's magical water is poured into them, one chalice grants prolonged life while the other causes death. The difference is that one chalice must contain a mermaid's tear, which grants the gift of life to whoever drinks from it.

Barbossa became a privateer for the British Navy after losing both his leg and Jack's ship, the Black Pearl, to Blackbeard. He traded his pirate life for a position of authority under the Crown, using his knowledge of the seas to lead the British expedition to the Fountain in hopes of reclaiming his former glory.

Philip, a missionary captured by Blackbeard, falls in love with Syrena, a mermaid the pirate captures. Blackbeard is defeated when Barbossa kills him with his sword during the battle at the Fountain. This fulfills the prophecy that Blackbeard would die at the hands of a one-legged man. Barbossa also reclaims the Black Pearl, which Blackbeard had magically bottled and kept on his ship.
