The film begins with a fierce confrontation as Reggie heroically ignites a gas leak, resulting in a massive explosion that destroys the house. This critical moment marks the initial clash with the Tall Man and sets the stage for the ensuing chaos.

Six years later, we are introduced to Liz Reynolds, who possesses a psychic connection with Mike and the Tall Man. This connection triggers a series of prophetic dreams, foreshadowing the dangers that lie ahead.

After waking from a nightmare, Liz examines her dream journal filled with unsettling illustrations. One vision vividly resumes where the previous film ended, intensifying her dread about the Tall Man's intentions.

As the chaos unfolds, Reggie rushes upstairs to help Mike, who is under attack by Lurkers. Evading the Tall Man, they manage to leap out of the bedroom window just as the gas ignites, resulting in the house being engulfed in flames.

Liz becomes increasingly desperate for Mike to find her, fearing that her grandfather's death will allow the Tall Man to claim Mike. Despite being labeled delusional and confined, Mike is motivated by Liz's distress calls to reclaim his freedom.

Mike sneaks out to Morningside Cemetery to unearth bodies, only to be interrupted by Reggie. Together, they discover the coffins are empty, confirming Mike's fears and prompting their perilous hunt for the Tall Man.

While traveling, Mike has a terrifying vision of an explosion. He rushes to warn Reggie, only to find that Reggie's home has already succumbed to flames, tragically claiming the lives of his family members.

Determined to confront the Tall Man, Mike and Reggie raid a hardware store for weapons and supplies. Their preparation includes an improvised chainsaw and double-barreled shotguns, essential for their survival against an unknown enemy.

Meanwhile, Liz copes with her grandfather's funeral alongside her sister Jeri, who ominously vanishes during the service. Her search leads her to the mortuary, where she encounters a disturbing sight.

As Liz investigates a mysterious coffin at the mortuary, she is startled by the Tall Man, forcing her to flee. This encounter amplifies the dread surrounding her family and intensifies her resolve to confront the malevolent force.

That night, Liz is shocked to see her reanimated grandfather, who delivers a grave message about her grandmother's impending danger. Under the Tall Man's dark influence, he urges Liz to return to salvage her grandmother's fate.

Mike and Reggie arrive in the ghostly town of Perigord, where they meet a mysterious hitchhiker named Alchemy. Their stay at an abandoned bed & breakfast highlights the eerie atmosphere surrounding their mission.

In a fateful meeting at the cemetery, Mike and Liz confront their deepest fears as the Tall Man's manipulations intensify. Their struggles highlight their shared connection and the threats looming over them.

A series of chaotic confrontations culminate as Mike, Reggie, and Liz find themselves battling the Tall Man's forces at the mortuary. The stakes escalate rapidly, demanding courage and sacrifice from each of them.

In the climactic finale, they ignite the embalmment room, intending to defeat the Tall Man once and for all. However, their victory is bittersweet as they suffer grievous losses, and once again find themselves ensnared by the Tall Man's dark grasp.
