What Happens at the End of Pechi?

How Pechi (2024) ends, what the final scene means, which earlier moments set it up and how to read the ending if the film leaves it open. The full ending explained, with every spoiler.

When the friends finally reach the heart of Aranmani kaadu, the forest’s old curse awakens. Meena, who secretly bears Pechi’s blood, has lured the group there hoping to sacrifice them and complete the witch’s quest for immortality. The guide Mari warns them, but the youngsters ignore the signs. One by one the others fall: Charu is saved from a cliff only to be killed later, Jerry disappears after seeing a ghost‑like figure and is murdered, and Sethu and Charu are torn apart when they stumble into Pechi’s abandoned cottage.

Charan and Mari discover the bodies and try to flee, but Meena pretends to be terrified of Pechi, forcing Charan to run while she keeps Mari close. In a brutal twist, Meña slits Mari’s throat, offering the guide as the next human sacrifice. Charan, scrambling away, grabs the amulet that hung around Mari’s neck—a relic once used by the priest who trapped Pechi’s spirit. The talisman shields him from the witch’s dark power, allowing him to escape the forest alive.

Meena is the sole survivor among the original party, but she remains unaware that Charan has escaped with the protective amulet. The film ends with the implication that Meena will continue to lure victims, keeping Pechi’s thirst for eternal life alive, while the amulet hints that the curse could still be challenged in the future.
