Partners Thangavel and Sabapathy head a thriving business empire. Behind the glossy success, Sabapathy secretly runs a smuggling racket with his son Mani and a ruthless gangster named Pandi, while Thangavel remains deeply superstitious about a large urn he believes to be a bad omen. In a bid to rid himself of this ominous relic, he donates it as a prize for a competition at his daughter’s college, hoping the mysterious urn will vanish from his life.

At that college, Latha, Thangavel’s daughter, is involved with Bhaskar, a student who lives with his best friend Seenu Seenu. Bhaskar ends up winning the urn in the competition, and Seenu and Bhaskar, curious about the prize, open it. To their astonishment, they release a genie named Jee-Boom-Ba Jee-Boom-Ba, who had been trapped inside for 3000 years.

Jee-Boom-Ba vows to help the two friends who freed him and proceeds to shower them with wealth and comfort. He provides money, cars, and mansions, and even assists them in everyday needs, enabling them to achieve things they had only dreamed of, including a remarkable basketball victory. Bhaskar, eager to leverage this magical boost to win favor with Thangavel, pushes too hard, and the dynamic between Bhaskar and Latha becomes strained as Jee-Boom-Ba’s close association with Bhaskar sows jealousy and misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, Sabapathy and Mani grow suspicious of Bhaskar’s rapid ascent. They begin to suspect Jee-Boom-Ba of hidden misdeeds, even though Jee-Boom-Ba’s motives are to help Bhaskar and Seenu. The genie’s growing influence creates friction in Latha and Bhaskar’s relationship, driving Latha away from him and into a darker period of doubt and distance.

The tension escalates when Mani and Pandi, misconstruing Jee-Boom-Ba as a smuggler, abduct him and force him to join their business schemes. Jee-Boom-Ba refuses to cooperate and escapes after quietly learning their secrets. Bhaskar, pushed to the brink, asks Jee-Boom-Ba to leave so he can reclaim Latha, setting the stage for a confrontation between loyalty, love, and crime.

Jee-Boom-Ba decides to confront matters in a quieter, more human way, visiting Latha in ordinary clothes to persuade her to return to Bhaskar. When he meets her, she insists that he depart, blaming him for the rift between them. Jee-Boom-Ba respects her wishes and leaves, promising only to return when she truly desires it.

Determined to capture Jee-Boom-Ba, Mani and Pandi intensify their efforts. They lure Latha into thinking they’re rescuing Bhaskar from Jee-Boom-Ba and manage to bring both Bhaskar and Latha to their hidden hideout. There, the plan to torture Bhaskar to uncover Jee-Boom-Ba’s whereabouts becomes a stark reality.

In a further twist, Mani plots to kill his own lover Rita to marry Latha, a scheme that Rita uncovers. She retaliates by killing Pandi and joining Bhaskar and Latha as they attempt an escape by boat. Mani pursues them via helicopter, and the chase reaches a brutal climax: Rita is slain defending the pair, Latha is kidnapped, and Bhaskar dangles from the helicopter’s edge.

Recalling Jee-Boom-Ba’s guidance, Latha cries out for help, and the genie comes to the rescue just as Bhaskar seems doomed. Jee-Boom-Ba saves Bhaskar, conjures a flying car for their escape, and together they defeat Mani. With the criminals exposed by Seenu’s vigilance, Sabapathy and Mani are arrested, and the lovers’ fortunes are reversed: Bhaskar marries Latha, while Seenu weds his beloved Saroja. In the end, Jee-Boom-Ba chooses to dedicate himself to aiding others under the banner of “good luck,” continuing to roam the world as a benevolent guardian.
