This film features a notable ensemble including Anushka Shetty, Brahmanandam, Nassar, Telangana Sakuntala, M. S. Narayana, Raghu Babu, Chandramohan, Ali Basha, and Uttej.

In a rural village tucked beside a temple of the powerful goddess, Udayshankar Verma and his pregnant wife Parvati welcome a baby girl near the sacred precinct. The priest names the child Panchakshari, and because she is born on an auspicious moment dedicated to the goddess, the villagers treat her as a divine presence from the start. As she grows, the community’s reverence follows her, and she eventually marries an orphan, Sriram/Rajesh Sharma. The couple later celebrates the arrival of a baby girl of their own, whom they name Reshmi.

During the holy festival of Bonalu, Panchakshari is inexplicably possessed by the goddess itself, and the divine voice warns that Panchakshari will die suddenly. The foretold tragedy comes to pass in a blaze of fire, shattering the village’s sense of safety and leaving Reshmi unconscious and the people shaken.

Back in the city, Sriram encounters Panchakshari’s look-alike, Honey, a modern, wealthy young woman who does not initially understand his strange fixation. He follows her, even taping her movements, which earns her irritation. Yet when he explains the truth about Panchakshari, Honey begins to see the deeper history behind his actions. To help Reshmi awaken, he brings Honey to the village, where she learns a startling truth: she and Panchakshari are cousins.

As more is revealed, it becomes clear that Panchakshari was killed to close off the temple and deter people from discovering a buried treasure—the villain’s plan in motion. Honey returns to the temple site where Panchakshari died, and the world she knows tilts again when she is possessed by Panchakshari herself. The spirit scares away the diggers and paralyzes the villain’s wife, throwing the nefarious scheme into peril.

The villain’s entourage seeks to sever Panchakshari from Honey with the aid of an evil tantric sadhu, but their attempts fail. They terrorize the villagers who continue to pray to Goddess Durga, hoping for protection. In a climactic turn, the goddess herself enters Panchakshari to confront and defeat the villain. The crowd gathers to receive the Great Goddess’s blessings as she fulfills her divine intervention, and, after a final exchange, Panchakshari’s spirit leaves Honey’s body so that her own soul can finally rest in peace.

The narrative blends mythic energy with village-vs-city contrasts, weaving themes of fate, kinship, and the resilience of faith. Amid the mystic thunder of exorcisms, prophecies, and a treasure’s shadow, the story ultimately Songlines its way toward harmony, reminding viewers that courage, lineage, and devotion can restore balance to a world torn by greed and fear.
