During a desert wedding, a sudden earthquake causes the earth to split open, creating a mysterious glowing cave. Nyles, Misty, Tala, Abe, and others are present, with Nyles sensing an ominous disruption. The earthquake sets the stage for the supernatural event that traps them all in a time loop.

Nyles and Misty participate in their friend's wedding, with Nyles wearing the same clothes from the hotel. Misty gives her speech, and Nyles impresses everyone with an unprepared but perfect toast when Tala's sister Sarah is asked to speak. Their awkward relationship hints at underlying emotional issues.

Nyles flirts with Sarah, who is feeling embarrassed about her family and personal life. They bond deeply, sharing moments of vulnerability and making out in the desert. Their connection deepens despite the chaos around them, foreshadowing their growing relationship.

While in the desert, Nyles is shot in the arm and leg by Roy, a mysterious pursuer. Frightened, he drags himself into a glowing cave just as Roy fires another arrow. Nyles screams at Sarah not to follow him before he is pulled into the cave's light, triggering the time loop.

Nyles wakes up to find himself reliving the same day, the wedding day, over and over again. Sarah discovers this after entering the cave and waking up on the wedding day herself. She becomes determined to understand and escape the loop, confronting Nyles about it.

Sarah drives away in frustration and confesses her feelings of helplessness. Nyles explains his resignation, revealing he has tried to kill himself multiple times to end the loop. Sarah's attempts to escape repeatedly fail, and she begins to research ways to break free.

Nyles recounts how Roy, a guest at the wedding, entered the cave and was tortured by Nyles as revenge for Roy’s actions. Nyles shows Sarah scars from Roy’s retaliation, and she realizes Roy is still tormenting Nyles from Irvine, seeking revenge for the earlier betrayal.

Through repeated loops, Sarah and Nyles share numerous experiences, including stealing a plane, partying, and a desert camping trip where they finally have sex. Sarah begins to see the possibility of acceptance and change within the endless cycle, deepening their bond.

Sarah believes the only way to break free from the loop is through selflessness. She whispers a hurtful secret during a wedding to devastate Tala and tries repeatedly to find a solution, but each attempt resets the day, leaving her frustrated and desperate.

Realizing the only escape is destruction of the cave, Sarah and Nyles prepare to blow themselves up with explosives at the cave’s entrance. They share a heartfelt goodbye, acknowledging their love and the absurdity of their situation, before detonating the explosives and ending the loop.

Following their sacrifice, Nyles and Sarah wake up in a peaceful pool at a safehouse, seemingly liberated from the cycle. They recognize their future may still be uncertain but are ready to face it together, with a sense of hope and reclaimed freedom.

In a mid-credits scene, Roy visits the wedding and contemplates Sarah’s plan, realizing it might work. This suggests that the cycle could potentially restart or that other scenarios are possible, leaving an open ending for the story’s universe.
