Noel leaves for Malaysia as an overseas Filipino worker and soon takes a taxi job that puts him face to face with a crying passenger, Pia, in his cab. Back home in the Philippines, Aida begins receiving Noel’s remittances and gifts that help support his siblings, including Miles Ocampo and Manuel Chua, along with the wider clan — especially his hot-headed aunt Ramona and their grandmother, grandmother. The two meet again when Pia rides in Noel’s cab a second time, and they discover they share a homeland and a growing attraction.
