Rameshan, Kunchacko Boban, a college lecturer and part‑time poet, marries Smruthy, Vincy Aloshious, at the age of 34. On the wedding night, Smruthi elopes with her boyfriend Siju in a Premier Padmini, with Rameshan’s knowledge. The news spreads through the village after two eyewitnesses share what happened, and soon Rameshan is nicknamed “Padmini” because his bride fled in a Premier Padmini, a nickname that sticks and colors how others see him.
Venu, Rameshan’s friend, suggests he consider remarrying. They visit a marriage bureau in Kollengode, where Thanku, Jordi Poonjar, shows profiles of several potential brides. After shortlisting a few, they go to meet Advocate Sreedevi, Aparna Balamurali, to view her as a prospective partner. Before entering, Rameshan notices a Premier Padmini on Sreedevi’s porch and decides not to meet her, leaving Sreedevi frustrated that he won’t even give her a chance.
Meanwhile, a mathematics lecturer named Padmini joins Rameshan’s college. Madonna Sebastian plays Padmini, and the two grow closer as work and personal lives start intertwining. Jayan, the owner of Raareeram mattress company, approaches Sreedevi with a marriage proposal. Sreedevi initially rejects it but gradually warms up and accepts the idea of a future with him. In the meantime, Rameshan and Padmini decide to take the next step and plan to marry. Rameshan arrives at Padmini’s house with his family, but Padmini’s uncle, the village officer, Srikant Murali, asks whether Rameshan has legally divorced Smrithi, revealing a concern that had totally skipped his mind.
Padmini meets with Sreedevi to discuss Rameshan’s situation. Sreedevi asks Padmini to send Rameshan to her office, and the two visit Smrithi’s home, where Smrithi’s father again mocks them for letting her elope. Rameshan and his younger brother Rahul, Ganapathi S Poduval, search for Smrithi’s details on social media but find nothing. They travel to Smrithi’s village to look for clues, yet there is no result. On Sreedevi’s request, Rameshan brings a photo of Smrithi for the next intake. Jayan arrives at the office unexpectedly and sees Rameshan, rekindling his own jealousy.
Padmini informs Rameshan that her family is seeking a new marriage proposal for her. Rameshan appears in court for divorce, but the judge, Unni Raja, orders Smrithi to attend and adjourns the case. Jayan urges Sreedevi to withdraw from Rameshan’s case, criticizing her inability to win. Sreedevi treats the setback as a challenge and continues her efforts. Sreedevi and Rameshan visit Smrithi’s home, but Smrithi’s father again mocks them. Smrithi’s sister tells them that Smriti is in Chennai. On their way back, Jayan spots Sreedevi and Rameshan riding together on a scooter, and jealousy flares.
Rameshan and Sreedevi travel to Chennai to meet Smriti. When Sreedevi’s calls go unanswered, Jayan heads to Rameshan’s college to speak with Padmini. Padmini informs him that Rameshan and Sreedevi have headed to Chennai, which intensifies his nerves. Smrithi, who had some difficulty staying with Siju, decides to join them after meeting Rameshan and Sreedevi. When Jayan arrives in Chennai, he finds Sreedevi and Rameshan talking in a hotel room and ends his relationship with Sreedevi.
The trio — Rameshan, Sreedevi, and Smrithi — take Smrithi to Padmini’s hostel in Kavasseri, where Padmini and Smrithi briefly clash over Rameshan. Sreedevi then takes Smrithi to her house. The next day, Rameshan, Padmini, Padmini’s father, and Padmini’s uncle appear in court, but Smrithi’s absence postpones the case again. Padmini’s uncle urges Rameshan to end things, adding further pressure to resolve the tangled relationships.
A few days later, Siju marries Monisha, Anaswara Rajan. Smrithi, aware of Siju’s marriage, visits Monisha’s home with Rameshan and Sreedevi and informs Monisha’s family about her ongoing relationship with Siju. Monisha makes a scene, insisting on her own right to marry her beloved Kishore, and Smriti’s attempt to tease Siju backfire when his fiancée rejects him on his wedding night. After this complicated sequence of reconciliations and revelations, the story ends with Rameshan and Sreedevi leaving the wedding venue in Sreedevi’s Premier Padmini, moving toward a new chapter together, with Smrithi’s path still intertwined in the evolving web of relationships.
