Two short tales set in Edo’s Shogun era. In the first, amid fierce persecution of Christians, Iori falls for a young Christian girl; when her family is seized in a raid, his cruel master claims her as a personal slave, using her to torment Iori. The second follows Sutezo, who, bound to a brutal brothel master to repay debts, befriends a girl. Together they flee and survive through scams and petty theft.
