Back in the human world, Arata attempts to call the fortune-teller for help, and his own soul leaves his body to arrive in World Border. He joins Mio in the search for a reunion and to restore their connection. The parallel journeys deepen their bond across borders.

The group reaches the Forgotten Things Counter, where a lost-and-found officer provides a train ticket for Mio's return and Mrs. Mori, the goddess, offers guidance to recover her memories. They realize that simply returning may require rekindling a heartfelt desire. The scene blends whimsy with the tension of memory and purpose.

Despite obtaining the ticket, Mogari, the guardian of World Border, prevents Mio from returning to the human realm. With help from Gimon, Kiku-chan, and Arata's presence, they push toward breaking the barrier and bringing Mio home. The obstacle heightens the stakes of the mission.
