Mio, a high school student who often avoids her responsibilities, spends her afternoons in Ikebukuro with childhood friend Arata and her best friend Madoka. When Madoka confesses her feelings for Arata, Mio realizes she reciprocates them but fears the potential for heartbreak. Attempting to avoid the complexities of love, she lies and offers to help Madoka pursue Arata. This leads to a tense confrontation between Mio and Arata, prompting her to try and mend their relationship.
