Outside the Wire

In 2036, escalating tensions lead to a civil war in Ukraine, creating chaos and instability in the region. The situation forces countries like the United States to respond with military action to maintain peace and security.

In response to the conflict, the United States sends peacekeeping troops to Ukraine. Among them is a battalion of Marines, accompanied by robotic units known as Gumps, tasked with stabilizing the situation.

During a critical operation, the Marines fall into an unexpected ambush. This shocking event challenges their preparations and readiness, leading to casualties among the forces.

1st Lt. Harp makes a controversial decision during the ambush by employing a Hellfire missile in a drone strike. While this act saves 38 Marines, it also results in the tragic loss of two comrades, drawing serious repercussions.

As a consequence of his actions, Harp is reassigned to Camp Nathaniel, the United States' operational headquarters in Ukraine. There, he meets Captain Leo, who has secrets of his own.

Harp and Leo's mission is to thwart the plans of Victor Koval, who is attempting to control Cold War-era nuclear silos. Their cover story involves delivering vaccines to a desperate refugee camp.

On their way, their convoy responds to a distress call regarding an attack on a humanitarian aid truck. This escalates into a tense standoff between US Marines and armed local citizens, with a Gump unit escalating the chaos.

Amidst rising tensions, Captain Leo negotiates peace by donating the contents of the aid truck to the locals. However, this moment of tranquility is short-lived as pro-Russian insurgents launch a surprise attack.

Upon reaching the refugee compound, Harp and Leo find themselves under sniper fire. They witness the tragic deaths of several civilians, deepening the emotional toll of their mission.

At an orphanage, they meet Sofiya, a resistance leader, who reveals the devastating consequences of US drone strikes. This knowledge adds to Harp’s inner turmoil as he grapples with the impact of their actions.

As they navigate their way to the bank, Harp and Leo confront Koval's men, including several Russian-made Gumps. Their bravery is tested as they attempt to save civilians caught in the crossfire.

Harp orders a drone strike that obliterates the bank while retrieving nuclear launch codes. However, this leads the military leadership to believe that both Koval and Leo have died in the attack.

Harp discovers Leo's ulterior motives when Leo reveals he had manipulated him all along. After a struggle, Leo abandons Harp on the roadside for his own escape plans, leaving Harp vulnerable.

Determined to prevent disaster, Harp infiltrates the missile silo only to find Leo in control. A confrontation ensues, leading to a tense struggle for dominance over the impending missile launch.

Harp narrowly escapes the silo just before a drone strike demolishes it, resulting in Leo's demise. Upon returning to Camp Nathaniel, he is commended for his actions but carries the heavy weight of his experiences as he prepares to leave.
