Outlaw Johnny Black

Johnny Black arrives in the town of Cheyanne and tries to rescue an Indian kid being beaten by white men. He is overpowered during the rescue and ends up jailed. This incident sets off a chain of trouble for him.

While imprisoned, Johnny warns that Brett Clayton will rob the town’s bank. His warning proves accurate as the heist unfolds and Brett murders several innocent people. The town reels from the violence.

In a flashback, Johnny’s parents were Exhibition shooters. Brett challenges Johnny’s father to a Quick Draw Duel and murders him when he is unarmed. The tragedy shapes Johnny’s long-simmering quest for justice.

As Johnny is about to be hanged, Indians intervene and rescue him, allowing him to ride away on a horse. The horse dies of thirst along the way, forcing Johnny to keep moving on foot. The escape marks a turning point in his fortunes.

Johnny is rescued again by a preacher named Percy, and they flee in a horse carriage. Percy is shot and left unconscious by the Indians, then later revived and forced to marry the Indian Chief’s daughter.

Johnny travels to a neighboring town and poses as Percy, whom Bessie has never seen in person. Bessie hugs Johnny, mistaking him for the real Percy because of the letters they shared.

The real Percy arrives in town, and Johnny convinces everyone that the Percy is actually Deacon, sowing confusion and shifting trust. The town becomes divided as identities blur.

That night Johnny finds a map pointing to hidden treasure and begins to search for it. Meanwhile, Bessie sleeps with Percy, thinking him to be Johnny, and Jessie befriends Johnny, deepening the town’s entanglements.

The next day at church, Johnny is compelled to deliver a sermon and repeats the forgiveness talk his father gave on his last day of life, which leaves the congregation impressed. The sermon elevates his stature among townsfolk.

Bessie and Jessie confront Johnny about the previous night and break up with him. A fight erupts at the local bar, and Marshal Cove begins to suspect Johnny’s true identity, escalating the tension.

Tom’s henchman Eddie overhears Johnny and Cove’s conversation and shoots Cove, removing a key ally from the town’s protection. The plot to control the land tightens its grip.

Tom kidnaps Jessie and demands that the deed to the land be signed within a day, revealing his plan to seize the town’s property at any cost.

Percy visits Johnny in jail and gives him a Bible containing a key to the jail cell. Johnny uses it to free himself and Jessie and then shoots down Tom’s men, turning the tide of the fight.

Brett arrives with his men threatening to kill everyone in the town, but Percy appears with the Indians, as do Marshal Cove and Johnny. A fierce showdown ensues, and Johnny finally shoots Brett, avenging his father’s death.

Money begins to flow into the town, signaling renewed prosperity. Johnny is elected the new sheriff, and the townspeople celebrate the turn of events with hopeful anticipation for the future.
