Sheriff Pat Garrett greets his old friend Doc Holliday in Lincoln, New Mexico, where Doc is chasing a horse he believes was stolen. The search points to Billy the Kid, who surprisingly befriends Doc, straining Pat’s relationship with him. After Billy is wounded, Doc hides him at his lover Rio’s house, deepening the uneasy alliance among the three.
