Set in England, 1891, Oscar Wilde (1854‑1900) meets the young nobleman Lord Alfred Douglas. Their intimate relationship draws fierce condemnation from Alfred’s father, the Marquis of Queensberry. Spurred by Douglas, Wilde sues the Marquis for defamation in 1895, sparking a scandal that shakes society.
