Open Season

In spring, Elliot's giant new antlers crack during an accident, leaving him upset and physically damaged. The injury foreshadows bad luck and unsettles the wedding plans. His confidence begins to waver as he faces an uncertain future with Giselle.

Believing the cracked antlers bring bad luck and hearing ambiguous words from Ian during the ceremony, Elliot starts questioning the marriage. He resolves to delay the wedding until his antlers grow back. The mood shifts from celebration to uncertainty.

Mr. Weenie discovers a dog biscuit trail left by his previous owners and follows it into the woods. His tracking inspires a sense of purpose for the rescue mission. The dog becomes a catalyst for crossing paths with the wilds.

During the wedding’s climax, Mr. Weenie is seized by his old owners Bob and Bobbie. Elliot fabricates an exaggerated tale about Bobbie’s cruelty, hoping to justify a rescue mission and stall the wedding. The stage is set for a wild rescue adventure.

Boog, Elliot, Giselle, McSquizzy, Buddy, Serge, and Deni rally to rescue Weenie. They head into the forest led by Boog, leaving Giselle and Elliot to reconcile or part ways. The plan blends heroism with avoiding Giselle’s disappointment.

Meanwhile, the pets traveling to Pet Paradiso convene at a rest stop. Fifi talks about his hatred for wild animals and tries to maul a rabbit before his owner stops him. The scene foreshadows the clash between pets and the wilds.

The wilds locate Weenie and Buddy at a pet camp and try to free them, but the plan is foiled by Elliot’s impulsiveness. Weenie resists becoming a pet again, complicating the rescue. The escape leads to further pursuit.

During the chase, Fifi is shocked by his own collar and loses most of his fur in a blaze of humiliation. He vows revenge on the wilds, escalating the conflict. The incident cements the animosity between the groups.

Disguises are blown and Giselle and McSquizzy are captured by Fifi and the other pets inside Pet Paradiso’s lair beneath the waterslide. The wilds must improvise a new plan to rescue them. The stakes rise as the trap tightens.

Boog attempts to slip in as a cat but is too big, then disguises as a sheepdog and joins the mission. He, along with Elliot and the others, infiltrates the resort to reach Giselle and McSquizzy. The team coordinates a daring rescue from within.

Elliot, Mr. Weenie, and Buddy reach the lair while Fifi unfurls a trap of shock collars. A chaotic battle erupts as security tries to tranquilize the wilds. Elliot’s trust in himself grows as he fights to save his friends.

Elliot redirects the shock collars onto Fifi, turning the trap back on him. Fifi barely survives the shock, losing his fur and his arrogance in the process. The wilds and pets decide to be friends, and Mr. Weenie chooses to rejoin his former life with his owners. In the forest’s reunion, Elliot finally confesses his love to Giselle and they marry, bringing the spring to a close.
