A five‑man U.S. fireteam entrenches itself in the Bon Song Valley—depicted as a Bavarian forest—to wait out an Easter truce with Vietnamese forces. When a Vietnamese girl passes by, the soldiers rape and murder her. One soldier refuses to take part, flees to report the crime, but his superior dismisses the allegation.
