Two millennia ago on the planet Chikyu, a group of heroes joined forces to battle the Underground Empire Bug Naraku. Through their guardian deity, Legend King-Ohger, they defeated the empire and exiled it to the planet's subterranean levels. Their victory brought peace between humanity and the underground race.

Founding of the Five Kingdoms

With the war over, the heroes disbanded and went their separate ways. Five of them went on to establish the kingdoms of Shugodom, Nkosopa, Ishabana, Gokkan, and Tofu, which became the great powers of Chikyu. In later years, a prophecy began to spread warning that the Bug Naraku would one day return.

The Wrath of God

Fifteen years before the present day, a catastrophic event later known as the Wrath of God struck Chikyu. Its true cause remained hidden for years, though it was eventually revealed to have been orchestrated by the Galactinsect Jesters serving Dagded Dujardin. The disaster left a lasting scar on the planet and its people.

Bug Naraku Invade Shugodom

In the present, the current rulers' attempted alliance collapses as the Bug Naraku launch an assault on Shugodom. The invasion is carried out under the genocide decree of their leader, King Dezunaraku VIII. The attack reignites the long-standing conflict between humanity and the underground empire.

Gira Steals the Ohger Calibur

A Shugodom youth named Gira discovers that King Rcules Husty plans to use the war to justify unifying the kingdoms under his rule, even at the cost of his own people. Disgusted by Rcules' callous ambition, Gira steals the Ohger Calibur, the kings' symbol of authority, and declares himself an 'evil king' bent on destroying Rcules' reign. His defiance awakens the Shugods that form King-Ohger.

Alliance of the Five Rulers

While branded a traitor for his defiance, Gira is later revealed to be Rcules' missing younger brother. He forms an alliance with the other rulers of Chikyu: President Yanma Gast of Nkosopa, Queen Hymeno Ran of Ishabana, Chief Justice Rita Kaniska of Gokkan, and Overlord Kaguragi Dybowski of Tofu. Together they vow to save their world from the Bug Naraku and depose Rcules.

Jeramie Brasieri and the New Alliance

The five rulers are joined by the historian Jeramie Brasieri, revealed as the half-Bug Naraku son of a forgotten sixth hero erased from history for loving a Bug Naraku royal. Jeramie confesses that he fabricated the prophecy of the Bug Naraku's return in a scheme to unite the two races. The six then form a new alliance known as the Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger.

The Fall of Rcules and Gira's Coronation

After exposing and deposing Rcules, Gira succeeds him as the king of Shugodom. He persuades Dezunaraku VIII to reconcile with humanity once Jeramie learns his fabricated prophecy caused the current Bug Naraku attack. However, before Gira's coronation can be completed, the peace effort takes a dark turn.

Dezunaraku's Death and the Sixth Kingdom

Kamejim, Dezunaraku's right hand, fatally wounds his own king and is revealed to be the true orchestrator of the Human/Bug Naraku conflict. In the aftermath of Dezunaraku's death, Jeramie establishes an official sixth kingdom on Chikyu. The new nation gives the Bug Naraku a homeland where they can finally live in peace.

Descent into Hākabāka

Prior to Gira's official coronation, the Ohsama Sentai briefly venture into the underworld of Hākabāka. There they meet the founder king Lainor Husty, who cryptically reveals that an impending calamity will befall Chikyu. The eerie warning foreshadows the far greater threat still to come.

Dagded Dujardin's Ultimatum

Two years later, a new menace emerges when Kamejim's master, the Galactinsect King Dagded Dujardin, arrives on Chikyu. He demands that the planet resume its old war with the Bug Naraku or be destroyed. Gira, having learned that Dagded forced House Husty into his service and caused the Wrath of God, refuses and works to expose his crimes.

Exile to Earth and the Kyoryugers

In response to Gira's defiance, Dagded banishes the rulers to the planet Earth. While stranded there, they discover that their ancestors originally migrated from that world. They also join forces with the Kyoryugers to help defeat the revived Deboth Army.

The Kings' Proof and Rcules' Redemption

Upon their return, the Ohsama Sentai reclaim their kingdoms from Dagded's Jesters and Rcules, who reveals he played the role of a dictator to win Dagded's trust. After rejoining his brother and completing his plan to kill the Galactinsect King, Rcules watches as Dagded is resurrected by the surviving Jesters. Facing the renewed threat, the team uncovers the ancient power known as the Kings' Proof used to end the war 2,000 years ago, reawakens it, and destroys the remaining Jesters except Kamejim.

The Final Battle for Chikyu

Despite their new powers, the King-Ohgers fail to defeat Dagded and decide to hold him off long enough for the inhabitants of the six kingdoms to escape Chikyu. However, the subjects refuse to abandon their kings and join them in one last battle against the Galactinsects. Deceased warriors and kings summoned from Hākabāka briefly assist, and the fight culminates with Kamejim killed and Dagded destroyed by the Ohsama Sentai and their mecha.

A Borderless New World

After the battle, it is revealed that Kyoryuger leader Daigo Kiryu, Kyoryu Red, had been captured by Dagded all along and was indirectly freed once the Galactinsect King was destroyed. The six kingdoms abolish their borders, and their inhabitants begin traveling and living freely around Chikyu. The planet enters a new era of peace, watched over by the King-Ohgers.
