The film unfolds in a nonlinear, mosaic-like narrative that shuffles between past and present to trace Venky’s disappearance. In the opening scene, Venkata Lakshmi is abducted by a hooded figure while she captures a photo at the scenic Araku Valley.
Her family is thrust into action: her father and Venky’s brother-in-law, Krish, rush to the Kakinada police station with Venky’s father to demand answers. The investigating officer, Ajay Kumar, probes Veeraraju’s account and emphasizes that Venky’s character would not elope, pressing expectations of trust and truth in a tight-knit family.
The story then returns to Venky’s world—college life, dance, and the deep bond she shares with her father. [Krish], an NRI from China, comes to stay with Veeraraju and gradually falls for Venky, though his feelings are tangled and one-sided. Krish confesses his love to Veeraraju, who reveals a personal obstacle: his wife is not on speaking terms with him and would oppose any marriage.
Back at the station, Krish raises a troubling suspicion about [Prabhu], a theater worker who had recently delivered the theater’s collections. Krish contends he witnessed Prabhu misbehaving with Venky on several occasions, including at a Holi celebration, and notes that Veeraraju trusted Prabhu enough to make him Venky’s driver during her vacation. Tracking Prabhu leads Ajay Kumar to Uppala, where the inquiry deepens and the tension tightens.
Prabhu offers his account: he says he has harbored feelings for Venky since childhood and began working at Veeraraju’s theater with Pandu. As Venky grows closer to him, she asks him to keep his distance, throwing his loyalties into doubt.
The police zero in on Venky’s car in Araku Valley and a video that seems to show the hooded figure as Krish. The suspect’s movements shift back toward Prabhu as he is asked to leave the station, but a chilling hint indicates a more complex truth: Prabhu’s cries give way to a sly smirk, suggesting he may have his own hand in Venky’s fate.
Krish receives a call from his mother urging him to return to China due to his father’s stroke, and a confrontation at Rajahmundry Airport tests his narrative as he insists the bearded figure in the video isn’t him. This forces Ajay Kumar to revisit Prabhu as the primary suspect.
Flashbacks illuminate Prabhu’s long-standing love for Venky during their college days. Krish outlines a plan to kill Venky by masquerading as her driver and pushing her car into the Araku Valley to sever her bond with Prabhu. Krish offers money to seal the deal, and Prabhu hesitates, then reluctantly considers the arrangement as a potential solution.
Yet the truth grows more tangled: Prabhu did not simply fall in with Krish’s scheme. He had actually safeguarded Venky for three days, and Venky’s reverence for him—likening his protection to Sai Baba—becomes a poignant through-line. Veeraraju eventually calls Ajay Kumar with news that Venky has returned home, but the story circles back to Krish, who—after appearing to depart for China—is later revealed to be in Ooty, working at a roadside stall serving Chinese food and intent on revenge.
