Never Back Down: Revolt

Anya works as a housekeeper and studies to be a nurse, while she looks after her younger brother Aslan. Their parents were killed in the Chechen war, leaving them orphaned and dependent on each other. Their only living companion is Anya's pet parakeet, a small symbol of the ordinary life they hold onto.

The women rise up, overpowering Janek and the guards and killing many of their captors. Mariah is killed by Anya in a confrontation, and the women push toward the front door with the intention of escaping. As police arrive, the captors lie dead and the captives are freed.

Six weeks after the ordeal, Anya has recovered and reunites with Aslan in London. She frees her parakeet at last, letting it fly away as a final symbol of her new freedom and a fresh start.
