At a tense summit between world crime syndicates, the plan unfolds to steal the Ambari, a golden ceremonial object used in Mysore Palace’s religious celebrations, and auction it for US$500 million. The job is pitched to be led by Darshan Thoogudeepa Srinivas, a master thief who has just earned a bail from a prior bank heist. The deal is brokered by Diwan, who funds Jaggu’s release to ensure the operation goes ahead. Jaggu’s sister Gowri and his friend Kumbhi urge him toward the plan, arguing it’s the kind of score that could change their lives, and Gowri’s loyalty and affection for Kumbhi help seal their resolve to join.

To assemble the crew, Jaggu proposes four associates he met in prison: a tunneling expert, a pair of duplication specialists, and a getaway driver named Gende. Though the others initially hesitate—partly due to the Jamboo Savari festival and the belief that the Ambari is protected by the goddess Chamundeshwari—the rising weight of financial pressure persuades them to participate. Once the core team is set, they begin laying out their approach, balancing risk, timing, and the festival’s significance as both cover and obstacle.

The operation moves toward Mysore, where Jaggu’s old associate Kiran brings in Sharmiela Mandre to involvе Vicky, the son of the palace chief security guard, who supplies crucial information about three tunnels. One tunnel is positioned to be used when the Ambari is placed on display for Ayudha Puja. Tony, the tunneling expert, along with Vicky, test the routes to identify the shortest, most secure path. With the route mapped, the team begins the meticulous preparations for the heist.

As the plan progresses, the group tunnels inside the palace, replaces the real Ambari with a convincing replica, and makes a hasty getaway on a disguised bus toward Mangalore Harbour. Police pressure soon closes in: the Mysore city police appoint Assistant Commissioner Bhagath to oversee palace security, with Sub Inspector Prathap coordinating on the ground, while Vicky’s closer circle becomes tangled in the investigation. When Ayudha Puja commences, Bhagath quickly suspects foul play and ramps up his inquiry.

Bhagath learns from a sculptor that Jaggu had created replicas of the Ambari, a ruse intended to mislead authorities. He contends that the replicas may contain RDX explosives to trap the real culprits, adding another layer of threat and urgency to the chase. Jaggu’s team reaches the border and, sensing Bhagath’s plan, improvises a new route. In a volatile turn, Jaggu’s crew eliminates two suspicious officers, intensifying the pursuit. Bhagath grows suspicious of Vicky and orders a deeper search, while Kumbhi confides in Gowri that he suspects Jaggu plans to kill them all to safeguard the loot, even changing the password to the account used to pay the others.

While the group rests on a hillside to repair a flat tire, Kumbhi passes Gowri a pendrive containing the heist plan, the bank account number, and the password. In a brutal twist, Jaggu kills Kumbhi and incapacitates Gowri to secure the pendrive, deciding to press onward with the mission. The news hits Vicky hard when he discovers that Kiran has been using him all along and has developed genuine feelings for Jaggu, not for himself. Gowri, overwhelmed with despair, climbs from the bus and leaps to her death.

With Gowri dead and Kumbhi gone, Tony realizes that Jaggu cannot be trusted and confronts him, forcing a tense standoff inside the moving vehicle. A Mexican standoff erupts as more revelations come to light. Vicky phones Prathap to reveal the Ambari’s location, but Kiran raises the gun, threatening Vicky and injecting a final dose of danger into the journey. The bus veers into a remote, forested region, and a brutal fight breaks out, leaving only Jaggu and Vicky standing by the time the bus reaches a dangerous stretch.

A fierce struggle ends with Bhagath’s team firing on the bus, sending it crashing over a bridge edge. Bhagath executes a risky move—tying a rope to the Ambari so a police helicopter can lift it away. He pulls Vicky from the wreck as the bus tilts and plunges into a deep chasm, killing Jaggu in the process.

In the aftermath, during the Vijayadashami festival, the Ambari is restored to its rightful place and the Jamboo Savari proceeds with its splendor. For his part, Vicky resolves to work even harder in the future, a quiet acknowledgment of the dangers crossed and the hard lessons learned from the night’s chaotic pursuit.

This movie summary FAQ helps explain confusing scenes, plot twists, and narrative decisions in clear, searchable detail.

Q1

Why does Jaggu kill Kumbhi in Navagraha?

A.

Jaggu kills Kumbhi because Kumbhi discovers Jaggu's plan to double-cross the entire crew and keep all the money for himself. Kumbhi had already changed the password to the bank account holding the payment, making it impossible for Jaggu to access the funds if he killed the others. To secure the pendrive containing the account details and password, Jaggu kills Kumbhi and incapacitates Gowri, eliminating anyone who could stop him from stealing the full $500 million.

Kumbhi earlier confides to Gowri that he suspects Jaggu plans to kill them all to safeguard the loot.

Q2

Why does Gowri jump from the bus in Navagraha?

A.

Gowri commits suicide by jumping from the bus after witnessing Jaggu murder Kumbhi, who was not just her friend but someone she cared about deeply. The combination of losing Kumbhi, being betrayed by Jaggu whom she helped free, and the general hopelessness of her situation overwhelms her completely, leading her to take her own life.

Gowri's loyalty to Kumbhi was evident when she supported his decision to join the heist, making his death devastating for her.

Q3

How does the police recover the Ambari in Navagraha?

A.

Assistant Commissioner Bhagath orchestrates the recovery by having his team shoot the bus causing it to crash near a bridge. While the bus hangs precariously, Bhagath ties a rope to the Ambari and uses a police helicopter to lift it away to safety. Jaggu dies in the crash while Vicky is pulled from the wreck by Bhagath.

Bhagath had been tracking the team throughout the journey, learning about the replica swap and suspecting the Ambari was being transported by road.

Q4

What happens to Vicky at the end of Navagraha?

A.

Vicky survives the final confrontation. After the bus crashes and most characters are killed, Bhagath pulls Vicky from the wreckage. Unlike Jaggu who dies, Vicky is captured alive. During the Vijayadashami festival aftermath, Vicky resolves to work harder and study more in the future, indicating personal growth from his experience.

Vicky had earlier called Prathap to reveal the Ambari's location, showing his shift toward cooperating with authorities.

Why does Jaggu kill the police officers at the border?

A.

Jaggu kills two suspicious police officers at the border because they are blocking his escape route and threatening to expose the heist. With the police pursuit intensifying and Bhagath closing in, Jaggu makes a desperate choice to eliminate the officers so his team can continue toward Mangalore Harbour with the Ambari.

The police had been tightening security throughout the escape, with Bhagath learning about Jaggu's replica plan and RDX threat.

Q6

How does the heist plan work in Navagraha?

A.

The plan involves tunneling into Mysore Palace using three tunnels identified by Vicky, whose father is the chief security guard. The team waits until Ayudha Puja when the Ambari is placed on display, then crawls through the tunnel to swap the real Ambari with a convincing replica. They escape on a disguised bus toward Mangalore Harbour. The replica was meant to mislead authorities and potentially contain RDX to trap anyone who discovered the switch.

Vicky provides crucial information about three tunnels, with one positioned specifically for use during Ayudha Puja.

Q7

What is the Ambari in Navagraha?

A.

The Ambari is a golden ceremonial elephant carriage used in Mysore Palace's religious celebrations, particularly during the Jamboo Savari festival. It is described as a highly valuable artifact that would sell for US$500 million at auction, making it the target of the entire heist.

The team initially hesitates due to the belief that the Ambari is protected by the goddess Chamundeshwari.

Q8

Why does Kiran help Jaggu in Navagraha?

A.

Kiran helps Jaggu primarily by bringing Vicky into the plan to access tunnel information. While initially using Vicky for her own purposes, Kiran develops genuine romantic feelings for Jaggu as the operation progresses. This emotional connection leads her to support the heist despite the dangers, though she ultimately fails to save Vicky from the consequences.

The summary notes that Vicky discovers Kiran has been using him all along and has developed genuine feelings for Jaggu, not for himself.

Q9

What festivals are featured in Navagraha?

A.

Navagraha features three major festivals: Jamboo Savari, Ayudha Puja, and Vijayadashami. The Jamboo Savari festival creates both cover and obstacle for the heist team due to its crowds and the belief about Chamundeshwari's protection. Ayudha Puja is when the Ambari goes on display, making it the perfect time for the swap. Vijayadashami is when the Ambari is restored to its rightful place after the heist fails.

The team initially refuses the job partly due to the Jamboo Savari festival and the belief that the Ambari is protected by Chamundeshwari.

A.

The bus veers into a remote forested area, crashes through a bridge edge, and plunges into a deep chasm. This confrontation marks the climax where Jaggu is killed while trying to escape with the stolen Ambari.
