On Wong Nai Chung Road, Yip Ku-hung is a lonely young woman who often dreams of rescue by a hero arriving on rainbow-colored clouds with the Monkey King and Pigsy. In her day-to-day life, luck never seems to favor her: she gets robbed, her beauty goes unrecognized, and she endures constant harassment from her boss. Yet she faces these setbacks with a resilient smile, clinging to beliefs in feng shui, astrology, tarot, and fortune-telling as ways to steer fate.

One day, she pretends to be surnamed Leung and visits Hong Kong’s famed feng shui master, Lai Liu-bo, a man whose presence seems destined to become central to her life. Their connection grows under the weight of an ancestral warning carried by Lai’s family: “Those who form ties with the Yips will suffer loss.”

Although Lai finds her warmth and even helps her avoid being fired, Ku-hung takes a bold step: she removes the protective feng shui arrangement herself to shield her coworkers, risking the curse she hopes to dodge. The gesture deepens their bond and tests the boundaries of ancient superstition.

Moved by her selflessness, Lai begins to investigate the source of her misfortune, and he eventually learns her real surname is Yip. This revelation makes him hesitate at first, but Ku-hung’s heartfelt confession gradually wins him over.

Together, they uncover a powerful metaphysical rival, Crab Duen, who has been secretly sabotaging Ku-hung’s fortune all along. Duen was raised by Ku-hung’s father’s mistress and feels indebted to her, a motive that pushes him to ruin Ku-hung’s life in repayment of a past kindness.

After a failed attempt by Duen to infiltrate Ku-hung’s home disguised as a woman, Lai and Ku-hung confront him. They join forces to expose the scheme, unravel the ancient Lai family curse, and bring Duen and his accomplices to justice.

Throughout the story, the tone blends lighthearted moments with a supernatural undertone, offering a nuanced portrait of perseverance, love, and the possibility that confronting old curses can transform fate when people choose solidarity over fear.
