In December 1910, Anna Claus oversees a workshop that is ahead of schedule. She proposes a faster route around the world for Santa, but he is distracted by letters to be answered. Feeling ready for a change, Anna decides to test the route herself by flying the sleigh with Santa's reindeer.

A sudden storm forces Anna to make an emergency landing near Liberty Island. She befriends a stable boy, Marcello, who explains the neighborhood's melting pot character. Marcello notes Cupid's injury will require a week of rest before he can pull the sleigh again.
