Monster from Green Hell

In a remote part of Africa, Dr. Lorentz and his daughter Lorna perform an autopsy on a native and determine death from paralysis caused by a massive venom injection. The finding adds scientific context to the unknown monster threat. The scene links the jungle danger to the space experiments.

Arobi informs Lorentz that a monster is terrorizing people and animals in the area known as Green Hell. The report shifts the mystery from space mishap to an immediate wildlife menace. The threat becomes the central focus of the expedition.

Brady reads a newspaper account of turmoil in Central Africa caused by gigantic monsters and surmises the wasps from the missing rocket were exposed to cosmic radiation. He connects the space program to the terrestrial danger he expects to confront. The idea motivates a planned investigation.

The scientists request a leave of absence from Washington to pursue the African mystery. They prepare for a dangerous expedition and set their sights on confirming the mutation theory. The decision pushes them toward the perilous journey.

In Libreville, a territorial agent plans for Brady and Morgan to meet Dr. Lorentz. After the plan is approved, Mahri leads them on a four-hundred mile safari toward Lorentz's hospital. The journey marks the start of their field investigation.

The safari battles brush fires, fever, drought and storms as it traverses equatorial Africa. The group finally reaches the Lorentz compound, where Lorna reveals that her father has not yet returned from Green Hell. The journey tests their endurance.

Arobi arrives with news that Lorentz has been killed by a monster living in the volcano's cauldron in Green Hell. He also hands Brady a giant stinger removed from the doctor's shoulder. Brady confirms the stinger belongs to a giant wasp and realizes the danger is real.
